Attaching Instructions to ECV Before Flight

I'm leaving tomorrow morning and will be flying with my ECV for the first time. For those of you who have printed out instructions on how to disassemble your scooter, how did you attach the instructions to your ECV? I have printed out instructions and put them in a clear plastic zip lock bag but can't figure out how to attach them to my scooter.
 
They do not disassemble the ECV. It is loaded fully assembled into the aircraft. My first couple of trips I had one sheet, in plastic, which showed:
The freewheel lever,
The tiller lock,
The tiedown points, and
How to raise and lower the tiller.

I used a twist tie to attach it.

When boarding the aircraft I would remove the charging unit in it's bag (attached to the back of the seat) and put it in the basket, and then detach the basket, putting it in a grocery style tote bag and bring that on the aircraft.

One one trip the instruction sheet managed to disappear, I don't know if it was on departure, when they tansferred the ECV between flights, or at arrival. Since then I have never made another one and have never had any problem.

But, on recap, they do not disassemble the ECV.
 
Thanks Cheshire for your quick response! I'm glad to hear they don't disassemble the ECV. Since I seem to recall you mentioning once that you fly mostly Delta and I will be flying Delta tomorrow I won't concern myself with the instructions. It sounds like it hasn't been an issue for you.

I did decide to take my armrests off and I was able to fit them inside my husband's carry on bag. I hope that doesn't create a problem for him when going through security. I also removed my basket and put it inside the backpack I keep on the back of my scooter and will be putting my charger inside. I will be using the backpack as my carry on.
 
If you have a bag that all your "bits and pieces" fit in--use that and put them together. It won't count against your carry-on pieces. It actually might be easier to get through security that way!!
 

I always have either three or four carry-ons.

One is the bag I mentioned earlier. The scond is the backpack I have on the rear of the seat. It has my CPAP, all medications (including syringes), a blood pressure meter and blood sugar meter. So these two are 100% medical and exempt from limitations.

If the trip is aonly a couple of days I will not check luggage, so I will have a maximum size rolling suitcase, and my last piece will be my computer bag with reading materials.

I have had airlines initially attempt to limit my carry-ons, but once I let them know that two are 100% medical equipment and supplies I have had no problem. And, of course, since I am parking the ECV at the aircraft door and one of the first to board I always cedn put everything overhead.

And if you are going to remove the arms from the ECV, wait until you have gone through Security.
 
I have laminated a piece of paper with all the info the airlines need (like what Cheshire said) and then punch a whole in it and fasten it to the tiller with a zip tie. On the paper is also a picture pointing to where the freewheel lever is and where it is safe to lift from or tie down.

No problems so far.

I also take a picture of my scooter while waiting to board of all sides showing the condition of my scooter when I turned it over. I make sure the picture is dated if possible and taken in front of the gate number or gate desk for irreputable proof of condition when handed over to airline.
