I'm considering ATT Uverse. It is a little more expensive than Directv, but I am also looking at adding 1 receiver and I like the fact that I can record on 1 DVR and pick the recordings up in other rooms.

Any negatives?
Did you get the whole bundle with phone and internet, too?
I have att for phone and internet any way, but it looks like these are different plans with the uverse bundle. Why does the phone portion ask me if I want to change my phone number?

THey give 1 DVR - is this and the additional receiver add-on the only thing you need to be able to watch the dvr'd shows in another room?

Thanks for any info.

We only have our internet and tv bundled. We rarely ever have internet issues but when we first got uverse we had a lot of problems withs the tv's freezing. We had to have them out a few times before it was ever corrected.
Once it was finally fixed we have enjoyed having it. We have one dvr and 3 receivers. You can watch or set to record from any room and it holds quite a bit on there.

I love it! We have had it since September, and we all love it more than Directv and Dish. There are very few negatives, most just about the features that are different from Directv that I liked better on Directv. But I love the Dvr it holds tons! You can watch recorded stuff upstairs, in the den, or where ever! I love the picture in picture while you go through the other channels.

We were supposed to have it installed last Saturday. The technican came out, did some testing, then told us we were right at the edge of the area able to have it. He said he could install it and get it to work, but he didn't think we'd be happy with it. He recommended we cancel the order & stick with what we have.

So I cannot tell you how it is, I can only tell you that in our case AT&T was VERY truthful with us about what we should expect. I was surprised and pleased.

We have it and absolutely LOVE it!!!!! I love that the DVR holds an enormous amount of material and that I can watch in any room. We have not had any trouble with either the TV or the internet.

We have had it for a couple of months now after switching from Dish. Our service includes phone, TV, and internet. We have one main unit and 3 receivers. I love being able to record and watch from any TV. It is also great not to lose signal due to weather conditions.

With Dish we could pause and rewind live TV from any of the connected TVs. With Uverse, it only works from the one connected to the main unit. That is the feature I miss the most.

The only glitch we have had was yesterday when both the phone and internet went down (but not the TV :confused3). I followed the trouble shooting instructions and rebooted the main unit. Everything came back and has worked well since.

Our tech told me that feature is coming very soon...can't wait!

To the OP...we just got all our Uverse installed yesterday! :cool1: We did the whole phone/internet/cable package deal with the 200+ channel plan. Here is what I love about Uverse...we get all of the following for LESS per month than we paid for Comcast BASIC cable, cable internet, local phone service and monthly Tivo subscription:

-220 channels (we had about 60 before)
-music channels
-PPV and On Demand (remember, we had BASIC cable...we're so behind)
-HD pkg
-DVR that holds approx 300 hours (our Tivo held about 20 hours)
-3 additional receiver boxes
-ability to watch recordings on any TV in the house
-ability to set recordings from our cell phones
-Phone with FREE long distance to anywhere in the US, Canada and PR
-Wifi
-High-speed internet

And we're paying about $8 less per month. PLUS we got back $400 in rebate which paid for two 16g 3Gs iPhones w/ AT&T service.

I love having U-Verse. I like the features that have been metioned by others. I enjoying being able to schedule shows to be recorded through my iPhone (u-verse app) and on the computer. When I first had it installed, the next day the box died. The tech came back out and replaced the box. No problems since.

We just got U-Verse about a month ago and so far I like it. I do really being able to rewind and pause on my TV in the bedroom, but that really is my only compliant. I am saving a ton of money over Direct TV! We got the 450 channel package and phone and internet for $138 a month for 6 months and then it goes up about $10 for another six months, after that they said to call and then can probally keep at that same rate. Even at $180 a month it still saves us money. We also got some great rebates.
