Atlantis Aquaventure sold out! Has anyone used Comfort Suites?

I've done it so, so, so many times. We go to Atlantis at least once a year for the last 10 years. Sometimes the hotel is just too expensive so we do CS. It has always worked great. :)

Nursebeth,
Now I just have to figure a way to smuggle our 4 year old in since she makes 5 and only 4 are allowed per room...

Don't try it, they check everyone. The best thing to do is look at the advice I gave earlier:

Go to your meet thread and see if there is anyone else doing this that doesn't have a full room and split the cost with them.

or see previous post - this looks like a good way too>

Enjoy!

From Atlantis' website:
All Atlantis standard guest rooms have a maximum occupancy of up to four persons in the room. Five persons are allowed if one of the voyagers is four years old or younger. Larger accommodations are available such as Luxury Suites which can accommodate up to eight persons and Villas that sleep up to ten persons.
I think the Comfort Suites has the same policy. You should call them to find out. And bring your passports for proof.

And there is no sneaking at Atlantis. Atlantis actually checks how many guests are registered in the room against how many are getting the wristbands. And they will require the passport as proof (we had to bring the passport to the Kids Club at Atlantis to prove my daughter's age---it's their standard procedure the first time you check-in the kid)

Does booking the room for the day at CS include admission to the Digs?
yes, and the pools and beach. We checked in and out at the same time. This year I am using comfort suite points that we accumulated from our yearly Virginia Beach trips to get a room. :thumbsup2

Will we need to bring the kids passports with us to Atlantis to check in at Comfort Suites? If so, does Atlantis offers lockers to rent?

sorry peeps, I was in no way meaning that we would literally sneak my daughter into Atlantis. I will be hoping to purchase a day pass and my concern with booking through the company that was suggested here is that if she indeed is content staying on the ship I don't want to have lost out on a prepaid wristband. I have got to my cruise meet and asked if anyone would have a spot at CS but no one responded. Currently we have the last spot that was available on the disney excursion for my hubby and a room for 4 at CS but i'm dumping the DCL ticket soon because I'd rather gamble on a day pass for her on the day of through Atlantis. I can say we NEVER bring passports with us off the ship. I've been told to never do this!!! Never have my children been questioned about their age nor have I lied about it.

Great, great news everyone! I just checked our reservation and the Aquaventure is OPEN....two additional groups have been added leaving 5 minutes apart! So, if you are like us and want to keep it simple, with no Comfort Suites getting a cab, yadda, yadda, tour companies or booking a room through Atlantis, this is without question an easy way to go!! Thanks DCL.

Though it may seem daunting to a newbie I have found the Comfort Suite option to be much easier than booking directly with the Cruise Line. You can definitely get on the Atlantis property faster and you don't have to do the interminable tour.

For real!!! Do they have us captive on the bus when they tour or is it when we get off? If it is when we get off, why can't we just go our own way? Yes, what you say is important and time is limited as it is? Very interested in your response, thank you.

Booking through Comfort Suites is saving my family over $300...I think that's well worth the minor inconvenience of having to get our own cab there and back!

I'm a newbie here so I'm curious. Will you just take a cab to and from Atlantis? Timing won't be an issue getting back will it? We sail in July and DH REALLY wants to go on this excursion! DDs don't know it yet, so this will be a huge surprise for them as well!

When you get off the buses the tour guides lead you the long way through atlantis past the shops, casino, bars, restaurants, etc.

You can make a run for it but only if they already gave you the wristbands, sometimes they hold onto them until the end, sometimes they give them to you at the pier.

Everytime(4) I have used Comfort Suites I have already had a lounge chair and my daughter was in the pool well before the group arrived from the ship.

That being said I have been to Nassau a ton of times, stayed at hotels there, attended local festivals, etc. Some people may not feel comfortable with taking the cabs and would like the more "secure" feeling of the cruise line tour. There is nothing wrong with that either, you will pay more and you will get marginally less time but you will also still have a great time.

yep just take a cab, they are plentiful, dont try to just make it back to the boat though. Depending on the time of day downtown nassau can get trafficy, it is all 2 lane streets and it can take some time to get back to the boat.

There is also a water ferry that drops you off at the harborside part of atlantis.

I don't know the answer about passports for checking-in. Best to call to find out.

But Atlantis requires people checking kids into the kids and teen clubs to bring the passport the first time the kid visits those venues, so it's not an unusual thing for them to ask for.

Yes, there are lockers available. I've never used one, but they are popular with cruisers.

We have taken your counsel to heart and I booked CS this morning using miles, which made it even more appealing! Thank you for taking the time to educate us...just one more question...we don't have a problem taking a cab, help me understand timing though if you can. We are 'main seating' for dining...if we need one hour to shower/dress for dinner, what time should we be in a cab on our way back to port?

main dining is 5:45 now correct? So you want to be on the boat at 4:45? It it were me I would leave atlantis at 4:15 then. Traffic can be snarled in the afternoon and the way back is actually a longer trip than the way there. Sounds odd but it is due to the way you came being a one way street. So to go back they need to take you through the back part of town.

If you are running a little late, do yourself a favor and DO NOT tell the driver you need to hurry, he may take that to heart and drive like a maniac. It falls under the "be careful what you wish for" category.
