I love my mom. She is an amazing woman. She is not, however, a city girl by any stretch of the imagination. She and her best friend have decided to take a road trip to see a friend. That is pretty amazing in itself! They figure they will make it as far as Atlanta the first night. My mom is REALLY concerned about where they should stop and if they will be safe. Could someone recommend what exit they should consider when looking for hotels? Easy on and easy off of 75. Thanks so much!

Cartersville and Kennesaw (both are before Atlanta) are decent areas. Or if they wait and pass Atlanta, Griffin and past there should be okay too.

I agree with Cartersville (exit 285ish I believe)...and Kennesaw, Exit 271 or 269.

You can't hit Griffin off of 75, but if you want to go past Atlanta, you can get to McDonough which is exit 221 and 218 which are good.

If they make it even farther down, once they hit 475 (cut thru back to 75), there is a nice Fairfield in on Exit 9, Zebulon Rd...

I have never stoped in the Atlanta area other than to eat at the Varsity so I can not give any advice about an over night stop in the area. I have stopped in Dalton, Perry, Tifton, Cordele, and Valdosta. All of these are good area's to stop for the night. These are all area's that I have made it to the first day driving from Michigan. I believe we left at 3:00 am to make it to Tifton and 7:30a to make it to Dalton. As you can see I have made alot of road trips. These trips have been either with Dsis or DD. When we stop for lunch we take our time as it allows us to rest and then we are able to drive longer. The latest we have waited to stop was 9pm. Susan
