Atlanta and AirTran

Just wondering if the majority of the AirTran gates are very close to each other in the Atlanta airport. Our flight in April lands at 8:43 am and the next one takes off at 9:20 am. These are the only flights I could get! TIA!

Most gates are together, I think in C. They do have a few gates in another concourse and we have had to switch before.

just hope you don't end up like us last night! 1st flight was at least an hour late and we did not land until 830. Atlanta was supposed to leave at 806. Luckily, that flight was delayed too and we got on with about 10 min to spare. There was another late arriving plane that was not so lucky. I would have cried if we were stuck at the airport all night. I think I will try harder for direct flights


and BTW, Dioxide, my 26 inch carry on fit just fine in the overhead. we had to go on the side with 3 seats, but it was fine. thanks for your help on that issue

Glad to hear. Did it fit in wheels first? Wonder what the doubters will say now?

I think that is one thing I've always mentally noted with Airtran-that the gates were together. I'm sure it isn't a guarantee, but the few times I have flown them it has been much easier than the usual changes with other airlines.

Thanks for the replies, I looked at a map of the Atlanta airport but it was a little confusing. I figured they do this all the time so they must be able to get most people from A to B on time (Ha!) It was either this early flight or one way late in the day and miss a whole day of vacation.
