At The Fort NOW Till Sunday April 10

Tony, as I said it's full.

I had requested 1500 and was disappointed to not get in there. I asked the CM checking us in onTuesday to see if ANYTHING was available there and he tried and said no. To double check I drove through 1500 before going to 2000 and sure nuff ya'll were full.

But in a late breaking news flash yours truly went on an after dark bike ride and I went through 1500 because the po-po flashing yellow lights were blinking. I asked one of tbe guys what was up and he said one of your amigos there in 1500 (outside site around 1520) hadnt checked out as expected and they needed the space. Two cars were parked and a tent was setup but nobody was home. They left a nast gram under the windshield wiper. Wonder what it said?

Maybe i'll catch you next time.

I was pleasantly surprised that we got into 1500. Since we went back to tent camping, I have requested it each time, but we have ended up in 2000 each time. The only thing that was different this time was that I did fax in a request 5 days ahead of check in, and we checked in a Sunday instead of a Thursday.

I wonder if they give the guest/squatter notice before they tow them out? If it were me waiting to get in, I'd be anxious to see them gone!

Greetings from Main Street USA!

It is warm now and the afternoon parade is occurng
in the background. I'll sbare some pix from this mrning then do a later post. You will see Peter Pan broke but enough suits showed up crom mgt and they got it running. So if you need a MK fix here you go.

Pictures from the morning boat ride for the 8am rope drop today.

The first ride was Haunted Mansion. The queue area has been enlarged where I met these guys.

I love the live character interaction, the street-mosphere, in all the parks and in MK I love to listen to the Dapper Dans sing.

I will post again but I have to go host a birthday party for one of my sons at the Main Street Bakery. But I promise more pix including one that will make you think I waz drunk when I took it.

After lunch today it was time to vist some old favorites.

In Tomorrowland I love Carousel of Progress and the Peoplemover. PM gives a varity of views on a gentle, shaded, breezy ride. Views like these:

On the PM ride I swear the following photo is untouched. No I wasnt drinking either. The PM was about to take a hard right turn into the Stitch bldg and I snapped a photo of the castle. The swerve could be felt and when i checked the photo I found I had captured the Leaning Towers of Cindarella's Castle.

Dusk is falling. My group has already headed back to the Fort so I am footloose and fancy free to roam the MK. Main Street Electrical Parade is at 9 pm, fireworks at 10, closing at 12.

I know this thread, my thread, is on the DIS Camping Board and I promise to get us back on topic with pictures of the Fort at night in the next post, but will you indulge me just a little longer? I wanted to make my TR all inclusive with park pix as well.

Thiz evening I took pix of the castle and got ready for the MSEP from my vantage point in front of the Hall of Prez. There's also a few Main Street pix.

Enough is enough for today. Before the fireworks started, I worked my way down Main Street to the second floor of the train station to take the fireworks pix and make a quick getaway to the boat and back to the fort. After one last ride on Haunted Mansion I set off.

Next up-back home to the Fort.

For you night owls on the net late on Saturday night, this is my last post for today. Technically here at the Fort it is 12:12am Sunday morning but I want to finish this day out.

I took some fireworks pix from the train platform and then moved outide the berm in front of the station but still inside the gate for the rest. You can tell that with the pix of course.

The show is now over. Luckily a boat is waiting totake me back to the Fort and I hop on and admire the Contemp all lit up.

After the lights, noise, and crowds of the MK all day long, it is wonderful to step off the boat at the FW dock and "hear" the peace and quiet we campers love. My fellow boaters head for the bus or golf carts and the dock is tranquil. Trails End is deserted.

Tomorrow we pack up and go home.

thanks for the tr! it was awesome. night time pics are so hard to take. but, you did good. you know, the one thing i really miss at mk, the old movies and scenes you used to be able to put a penny in the machine to watch. that was one of our stops we had to make when we were little. it was fun to watch mickey come to life and you controlled how fast he moved. some things they need to bring back.

Thanks for taking the time to let us enjoy your trip with you. I really enjoyed the night pictures.

I feel the same little bit of sadness I get when leaving WDW. That is why most of my trips are usually booked from the car on the way back from a trip. Even if we end up moving the dates, it is like a guarantee to myself that we are going back.
