Hi ~ We need to make a change in our cable company. We can lower our plan on Comcast, which is what we are looking at right now as we currrently have cable and internet through them. However, I wanted to investigate AT&T as well since they have some good offers out.

Good, bad or indifferent I would love to hear some opinions/ experiences on/with either/both companies!

T'anks everyone!

We haven't had Comcast for many years. We left because of many service & billing issues which were quite a pain to iron out. IMO if they won't service you as a good customer, offer you deals to stay, yet still cannot seem to deliver either good service or resolve their own billing errors, who needs it?

We have had U-verse for over a year and, aside from a couple minor technical glitches which they immediately worked to resolve, we LOVE their service!

I do like the fact that you can tape 4 shows at once (non-HD) with Uverse.

Not sure what Comcast set up is.

As far as all of them, it costs too much.:headache:

Comcast customer for 15 years.....U-Verse customer for 6 months.

I LOVE U-VERSE!!! The DVR, all kinds of cool interactive apps. I love the "my multimedia". I can put 7 of my favorite channels on it. When you load it, one channel is on 3/4 of the screen, the other 1/4 has my other six. Smaller sized and I can see what's on there too. When I see a show I like...or I'm done with the commerical, I just flip it back.

I was tired of Comcast "throwing me a bone" with a 6 month introductory price, but then I had to call them again in 6 months, to "beg" for it again. With ATT I'm saving $58 a month.

Comcast last a great customer in us - their loss....OUR GAIN. :goodvibes

Definately costs to much! Shoot! I just fowarded the link to this post to my DH's email so he can check it out too. Much easier then fowarding updated emails.:thumbsup2

I appreciate all of your opinions!

We switched to AT&T U-verse from Dish about 1.5 years ago - gotta say, we love it. The only thing I miss is the ability to pause/rewind on the extra tv's throughout the house, but we have gotten used to it. The main TV has that feature. The ability to record 4 shows more than makes up for that little issue. Also, no longer having weather related issues is really nice, no more scrapping the snow off of a dish or having no service during heavy storms etc.

We have had 1 outage in that timeframe and from what I read it was a huge widespread problem that was corrected within a few hours. We weren't home, never even realized it was a problem.

We were all set to make the switch and I had DH on the mission. VERY disappointed to find out that ATT Cable/Digital is not in our area! Comcast has us all locked up!:headache: DH called them though and wrangled a new deal from them. We downgraded but it really won't effect us because we dont watch the movie channels anyway and still have the DVR use.

I do know that once ATT does come to our neighborhood we will re-evaluate the situation!

Thanks so much for all your opinions!:disrocks::thanks:

Both services have their fans and detractors. Neither service is better than the other for everyone. It depends on where you live and what your family's particular needs and sensibilities are.

Do note that U-Verse limits the number of video streams they provide you. Comcast does not. In most areas, they charge by outlet. You can put a 4-tuner DVR on each outlet if you want.

What did you think of the HD quality on the AT&T?

U-Verse does apply some significant additional compression on cable networks, but so does Comcast, so it really does depend on where you are and what you're watching.

I don't know whether U-Verse passed local OTA channels without additional compression; that is Comcast's policy.
