If you set the handset to allow international roaming, it should receive the text as though you were visiting the UK with an AT&T sim card in your US phone? Or am I wrong?

Okay, I can't make it connect to any network. Can I just buy top-up cards at the airport and/or Disney?

be aware that if you dont top up within 4 weeks of enabling the sim then it cancels

I know because I did it with my first one so realised for my 2nd one across here at the moment using one when they send you the pin to your phone then you can log onto the site and buy credit

I have used them before several times without problem. I will top up our phones again in a couple of weeks using them.

Thanks for the link. If I top up using the one of the minutes plan does it deduct the cost if I use it for data or do I need a different package for that? I don't actually want any call minutes, just credit for using internet Apps (Touring Plans)

I bought a data plan from AT&T direct $25 for 500 meg been across here 3 weeks and only used 170 Meg - I used LINEs in the park on my iphone it worked a treat!

I also bought $15 of call credit (just in case) but didn't use it, I didn't realise that skype works on the iphone with the data bundle (result!)

You top up and it adds the dollar value credit to your account. Once there I add a data package to our phones.

I top up $25 dollars and add the $15 for 100MB data and $5 for 200 texts.

The balance I keep for calls.
