Those of you who have this, does the unlimited texting cover sending pictures and video via text?

Also, on iphones, are you ever charged roaming fees?

1. Yes it covers it all.
2. I have never had a roaming charge on my iphone.

We have AT&T with 4 phones and only 1 is an iphone. There is something you have to set up for pics for the iphone. I've tried to send multimedia pics to dh's iphone and he doesn't get 'em. Sons and I have sent pics back and forth with no add'l charges and I can't remember getting a roaming charge in a while, but the pics to iphone is a bit more challenging. I don't think we've ever done any videoing.

We have unlimited texting and no it does not cover photo sending etc. Those are considered multimedia and cost .10 cents each.

Our AT&T plan is the same, no included coverage for pictures. I actually had AT&T disable the internet feature on our phones after DS had over $30 in excess charges one month for sending pictures and videos to friends .

Make sure he has the most recent carrier settings. Sometimes that is the problem. He just has to open Itunes and plug in the phone. On the screen for his phone, choose check for updates.

You can get the unlimited data plan for $10 per month per line. Well worth it if you're going to be sending and receiving lots of pics and video.

I think the reason you wouldn't run into data charges when texting pics/attachments with an iphone is that you have a data plan with it already. As others have already said, for any phone without a data plan, I believe texting only covers the basic text message, not data/attachments.

We have the unlimited messaging on all four of our phones with the $30 family plan and we send pictures all the time with no fees.

One of our phones is an Iphone and it has no roaming, just like the other phones.

I just priced out two iphones last night on the at&t website and it said the unlimited messaging plan covered multimedia messages.

we currently have verizon and picture and video messages are included in any texting package as "a message." if at&t doesn't do that then i might rethink our decision to switch.

the iPhone is a different beast from most att phones because you have to pay the $30 mandatory unlimited data plan that includes multimedia messages so yes they are included.

Go for the iPhone you will NEVER regret it!

but without the data plan, multimedia messages aren't included in texting packages?

verizon includes multimedia in their regular nondata plans (but if you go over on messages they cost more than a normal text).

I really want the iphone but im also trying to think ahead as well in case 2 years from now one of us decides to drop the iphone. if we switch to at&t I'd like to stay with them for years. hmmmm....

that is the way it stands right now but who knows what the future holds as cell phone companies change plans all the time.

I think once you get the iphone you will not want to "drop" it, but that is just my opinion.
