I called AT&T and verified that there was no catch, no contract extension, no cost increases, no caveats. The CSR wouldn't tell me during my call if *I* qualified for the offer, but verified it was real.

This is legitimate.

Send "yes" via text to 11113020. If you are eligible for the offer, you'll get a confirmation text a few minutes later.

It takes up to 4 weeks for the minutes to be applied to your account.

No go forth and text...

wow!!! I wonder what makes you a loyal customer. I've had the same account since it was CellOne!!!

My kids would love the extra minutes. I'm gonna try. Thanks :)

ETA woo hoo!!! I got a text back saying

'thank you for accepting our free 1000 bonus Rollover minute offer. Please Allow up to 4 weeks for processing'
Thanks again. :)

If it's real, sounds like they are trying to stop iPhone people from going to Verizon. (Verizon has offered me extra minutes, usually every year on my anniversary with them.)

My husband did this from his iphone last night and it worked!

So here's my questions:
We have a family plan, if we send the same text from another line on our family plan would we get another 1000 mins? Or is it once per family? And also, the rest of us don't have iphones so if you could do it more than once per family, would it work if it was not an iphone?

Great another 1000 minutes added to the huge amount of rollover minutes that I already have accumulated. Because of A List and unlimited mobile-to-mobile, we never use half our monthly minutes.

Thanks, we are not using all of our minutes but I love the rollover minutes concept. We just moved to ATT from Verizon this summer.

I sent the text and got a response right away. I'm getting an extra 1000 minutes. Yes!

I just did it and it worked. I have a business account so was not sure if I was eligible but I looks like it did. Thanks for posting this.

That is our case too. I wish I could go to a lower package but we are at the lowest we can go.

I can't go lower and keep the A List feature. Something I find that I really need.

I have 5000 roll over minutes if anyone can find a way to take them. :rotfl2:

I don't have text on my phone - will I be charged for the text?

No kidding. We have the full allotment of stored up rollover minutes already and have more expire each month because they are a year old already than this. It's stupid.

How about they just charge a more reasonable rate for something that costs them zero instead of overcharging me and offering useless "perks" like this? That's what I want.

Generally no, if it's a text sent to or from AT&T, like if you get a text for your minute use, balance, or other info.

If you do get charged, it's only 25 cents a message (sent and received). If a 1,000 minutes is worth it to you, it'd be about 75 cents total.

There's already over 2,000 minutes in the rollover, every month more get added than taken off. And because our contract is so old, we have a lot more minutes for only a few dollars more than the current "lowest family plan" available. Makes no sense to chance the plan.

Check with AT&T there's a not so well advertised new feature offered... It's called Mobile-to-ANY Mobile. If you mainly call non-AT&T cell phones this could be a real saver!

Bell, thank you so very much. I just called AT&T, and as long as you pay for unlimited texting, you can have this feature. I now have free unlimited calls in and out to ANY U.S. based cell phone. I asked why I would need rollover minutes now, and they said landline calls will be the only ones that come off your minutes. Holy crap, this is ridiculous, why wouldn't I want this??? Thanks again!
