We are having a wonderful time, but my gosh, it is hot for June! They have heat warnings going on this weekend. Heat index is expected to be 105 degrees today. Whew.

I think today is a good day to head to Downtown Disney and watch movies at AMC. All day. Hmmm, wonder if they have an all day beat-the-heat special?

Enjoy! Hope you find a way to stay cool. It's gloomy and wet here (CT) wish it was hot and sunny!

Can't wait to go to SSR for the first time next April!

At this point I could deal with the heat, this rainy gloomy weather in the Northeast has to stop!:sad2:

The entire Southeast is under a severe heat advisory. Record temps and unbelieveable heat indexes.

With this heat this early if this continues, watch out for hurricanes as the water temps begin to rise. I think it is going to be a very hot summer.

We came back home yesterday. Absolutely no complaints about the heat/sunny weather in FL! We were there in the deluge in May, and this was much much better!

Bobbi:goodvibes

Even on the clear sunny days in Upstate NY we haven't hit 70 more than 2-3 times. We are right on the shore of Lake Ontario, which tends to keep our temps down, but I would love 90's right about now! I cannot wait to be at the BCV in August/September!!!!

Pleeeeeease send some heat up our way.

At least your not here in New England, rainy, cloudy, cool yuk!

Sounds like a great day for a little :drinking1 and some time at the pool. Enjoy!

Ahhhh... Now that's what I think of when I think "Disney" :wizard:

I typically go in the summer when the kids are out of school. It's hot, it's rainy, but it's (((vacation))) I love soaking up the heat and chilling by the pool (preferably with margarita in hand!)

I know I can deal with 92-98... but 105? :scared: Hmmm... Oh, Bartender!

We haven't even used our air conditioner yet this year. Even though we love the low electric bills, some of that sunshine and heat would be a welcome treat here in the Northeast!

We will be there in a month from Monday - can't wait to hear more as it will be our first DVC experience. I'm a little scared that I am going to miss the regular Disney Resorts. Is there a nice gift there? I know Downtown Disney is right across the water but I love the resort gift shops.

Our first DVC stay was at SSR (our home), and we loved it. Before DVC we usually stayed at POR because we love the spread-out feel, the landscaping and strolling the grounds. So if you like that you will love SSR. The grounds are beautiful and the spa is great! We don't miss the regular resorts. Not sure what type of room you will be in but the 1BR is fantastic compared to a regular hotel room. As far as the gift shop, it's small compared to say POR which has a huge gift shop, but DTD is very close and you have lots of shopping there. Have a great time!

Naisy, if you're going to be at SSR you are going to love it! It is just so beautiful. We love staying here. The grounds have lovely landscaping and walking paths all around. It's so nice to just walk around and see all the beautiful flowers, trees, lakes and animals. Lots of bunnies! And very peaceful. Just what you need after a hot, crowded day at the parks. (Have I mentioned how incredibly crowded the parks are? I'm talking almost July 4th crowded at MK!)

The gift shop is rather small here, but they have a nice selection. A little bit of everything.

We're in the Congress Park area. The buses have been great. No waiting at all. However, the boats to Downtown have changed and somehow I missed that announcement. If you take the boat they now drop you off/pick you up at Pleasure Island, near the balloon. No longer at market place.

We were hear last month during the all-day downpour days. Right now, we're trying to figure out if we would rather be soaking wet or hotter then hades!

Either way, we're in Disney, so it's always a good day. :goodvibes

We know all about the crowds in July and the heat. We have a habit of planning for that time of year.
That's kind of a bum deal about the boatride to Pleasure Island - I wonder why they changed that? My father has a prosthesis and that will mean extra walking for him there but that will be ok I guess -as you say - We will be at Disney won't we? As far as the rain goes - we love a little rain while we are down there - It cools everything off and everyone else runs to hide so we can get through the parks faster. We aren't afraid of the rain.

Have a Fantastic Time and thanks for the update!! -- Renee
