At O'Hare airport yesterday

There were 5 hour backups of people wanting to check their luggage through United!! Seems that normally United has 80 people working the counters and in the back during this season, yesterday they had 35-40. They ended up delaying flights, refunding some people their money and FINALLY they called in more people to work. And then they wonder why they are facing bankruptcy!!

Just imagine how bad it's going to be next Friday and Saturday. This is why when I plan vacations around a holiday time, like next years New Years, I leave a day or so prior and come back a day or so after the holiday so the crowds aren't so bad.

I saw that on last nights news too. Imagine that will not help United's reputation. that is so foolish. Was it because they were being so money hungry that they don't have enough help? What was the explaination? I missed that.

United felt that they had enough personnel scheduled for the amount of tickets that they sold. They tried to blame it on the customers, saying that people were bringing 7-8 bags with them. Ummm it's Christmas and people are transporting gifts?!?!?! Even the union rep wondered what they were thinking.
