Just curios because back in May 2001 while the kids were swining around them one of them knocked over the bottle of Beer my Dad was drinking breaking it to pieces. Well after that our waitress came up to us & said are we ok & a manager also asked if we were ok. Well because of what happened they gave us 10% off our bill, my Dad got a new bottle of Beer for free & we were also given a freee desert. The only thing that did not happen was the kids parents did not tell him to say sorry for what happened, but we can't control that. Anyway we went back a year later & they said to the kids be carefull when you swing the hulla hoops not to hit any of the guests or what is on their tables. Then my family & I look at each other & we are like omg it sounds like we changed the way they do things because of what happened, because before the accident they never had said that. The reason I am asking if they still do this is because my family & I have not been to Ohana since that last time (May 2002) because they changed the menu & my Mom does not like what they now serve & my Dad & I also liked the old menu. So just curious to know if they still have the kids swining the hulla hoops & if they are told to be carefull?

I have been to Ohana about 5 times since 2002 and only once have I ever seen the hoops. They always play the coconut race games.

We've been going there for years and years and they always announce before the hoops to be careful and not hit anyone. They do the same before the coconut races too.

my kids did the hula hoops and didn't spill any beer thank god!! :lmao:

but it appears they have moved the hoop area to a more secluded location...they do this away from the tables nearer to the cooking kitchen (I think) than the tables

here is a pic for your reference:

Thanks for those pics. After looking at them, it's good to see that they are no more away from the tables becuase this way it's more safe for the people just eating there & the kids don't have worry about getting hurt if they accidently knocked something down.

yeah the hoola hoops never left that area you see

but they did dance and shake and do coconuts around the tables...

but seemed pretty tame...

That's a lot better then swining the hulla hoops.
