OMG! One of those nostalgic things I miss about living in Massachusetts! I remember many summer days spent at Canobie Lake Park and Hampton Beach. We also used to go to Whalom Park (close to home) and the old Riverside Park (before it became another Six Flags). I still wouldn't trade WDW for the lot of them though
Whalom park is scary now. The rides are in such disrepair. We went 2 summers ago after re-seeing the park on a PBS special about old time parks. I would not go again. But we love Storyland. I wish that some other parks would incorporate so many kid friendly rides.
I believe Whalom was closed the summer before last.
I took DS to Story Land for many years but now that he's 10 it somehow lost its appeal.
Staying at Seabrook, NH for 2 long weekends this summer - first time staying there
I was walking through a store parking lot a couple of weeks ago and noticed a van with the license plate DVC 1234 (not sure of the numbers). I was standing there wondering if this belong to a DVC member. Then I noticed that alot of the new style plates start with D, mine starts with DBJ, it could be a coincidence. I was thinking if I saw them come out I would ask. They didn't, but I was thinking if they weren't members they would think I was a nut! Even if they were, they probably would have though that!
I put the DVC Member tag that they gave us a couple of years ago on my car and when my husband saw it he thought I had gotten nuts. He says that I am just a tad bit on the obsessive side. I don't care I love DVC. He doesn't say much cause he knows we get to go alot......
Massachusetts switched to front and back tags so my DD bought me the tag frame that says been to disney and going back. I plan to hang my DCV plate on the back of my wheelchair with lime green ribbons!!!!
