At Least Ten U.S. Airports Face Closure Due to Jet Fuel Shortages

This is horrible! Alot of these airports are major tourist destinations, I am flying in Oct to the mouse, but I can't imagine the goverment would let this happen. I remember the gas lines in the 70's ( I was about 5 ) and I keep my tank full in hopes of avoiding lines and depseration.

Oh, man, Orlando is on the list. I had not heard this would even be a possibility. We go in Nov, so I hope we still can. I have had my Airline tickets for almost a year, FFmiles, and have not been to WDW in 6 years. This will be be our last big family trip too. So, hope we can still do it.

Links are probably dead, because the story has some FLAWS.

One of the airports that was mentioned was Atlanta for instance. Atlanta officials said last night the tank farm has plenty of fuel for the next little while.

"What it means is there is less fuel essentially," Evans said Wednesday. "Carriers are having to take measures to conserve fuel at airports where they are low and tanker in fuel when serving some destinations on the East Coast."

This was from the disruption of fuel movement Katrina Before it hit LA and MS. Delta Airlines was tankering in fuel to FL last week.

Now with the disruption of production and refining the Airlines are facing a whole new ball of wax.

The USA Today also indicates that airlines are actually putting more fuel aboard jets bound for locations where they expect shortages so they planes don't have to fuel up there....
