We got to the park at opening, I ran at almost full speed to Norway, got there at maybe 9:06, and it was announced there was a 3.5-4 hour wait for the princesses.

It's all the Norway breakfast people already lining up. I've read where some people have 1 person preline up and don't even go to breakfast. So that line up is starting at like 8:00. Crazy.

question (we're going down in May so I'm gathering info) - were you there - at the turnstiles towards the front at park opening? Or did you arrive around 9 am and they had opened the gates early (around 8:45)?

If you were at the front of the turnstiles or close to it and moved it and the line was that long we're going to rethink meeting them again in May. If you arrived and others had a 15 minute or so start on you (if they opened the gates around 8:45) that would be helpful information as well.

Yeah, that has been posted as the preferred way to get near the front of the line on here for quite some time.

That's amazing that just the Akershus Guests could make it a 4 hour wait at Park Opening!

At 9:30 right after my original post, a father told me it was 5 hours wait.

And it's pouring out.

It's not just the breakfast people. . .it's the really fast runners from the opening gate. The line moves so slow so 100 groups = 4 hours (100 groups x 2 minutes a group = almost 4 hours There can be 20+ groups from breakfast. The rides push people through much faster than a meet & greet. A roller coaster takes 20 people at a time not 40 minutes.

Also the line savers .. . send one fast dad to run & hold a spot for maybe a whole extended family. You see one person waiting for maybe 2 groups / lots of kids since people are trading off during the 4+ hour wait. Also once people wait 4 hours they want every possible picture combo with the girls!

I don't think it does, unless you just get lucky. Someone posted earlier the line was closed at 4PM the day they were there because it was so long.

Wow I hope they make that a FP+ option for those going peak times. I can't imagine waiting that long for anything, that is crazy!

Are the Princesses seeing people at 9am? The World Showcase does not open until 11am. Are people actually lining up at 8 am for an 11am opening? That is just crazy! We are planning a trip in September and there is no way on earth I am spending 3 hours in a line to see a Princess.

Right now they are meeting at 9.

Depending on what time of year you go, you may not be doing a whole lot on your next vacation.

You don't even have to skip breakfast. Consider the following:

Father #1 (in line) taps on the shoulder of the guy in front of him. "Hey, pal. Is your family in the restaurant having breakfast without you?"

Father #2: "Yes, they are. I drew the short straw to wait out here."

Father #1: "Go ahead in and join them for a bit. I'll hold your spot for you. But if you could be back out here by at least 8:40, that would be great, and then I could go join my family for a bit while you hold my spot. Deal?"

Father #2. "Thanks. That is so kind of you. Deal!"
