Checked in last night for our first visit to BLT. Its been a long time coming, and have been quite excited. We have a great BL view room on the Contemporary side, and it was awesome watching the World Series in the lounge last night, especially given the outcome;) The only thing I've noticed, is the showerheads are crazy powerful, sometimes painful! I felt like Kramer on Seinfeld when the apartments go to "low flow" and they buy an illegal showerhead from Yugoslavia:rotfl:

Other than that, this place is awesome!

:lmao: We stayed at Kidani last week and I have to say the shower heads are a little on the soft side- wished they were a little more powerful. Have fun!!

OMG...I forgot about those showerheads. We found that if you didn't push the shower lever all the way over, the pressure was less. Isn't the lounge fabulous???

Have a great time!

High rises have pressure-regulating valves for the feeds to sets of floors to keep the pressure manageable (80lbs difference in a building the height of BLT) it sounds like they have it set to high. Report it to the desk, it is a very easy thing for maintenance to adjust.

LOL. DH and I refer to this as a "laser shower". :thumbsup2

Sounds awesome. I would love the powerful showers. I hope to get to BLT within the next year or two.

I will be at Kidani next March -- a little disappointed to hear that the showers there are a little soft. Oh well....I will just have to deal with it ;) -- I'll be at DISNEY!!!! :rotfl:

I remember the power showers from the Contemporary years ago.

Its great that they give you CR nostalgia at BLT. ;)

Really though...I'd much rather have too much water pressure than not enough.

Yes the lounge is fabo!

OP, The first time I stayed at BLT, I almost lost skin!! It's like taking a shower with a pressure washer!:rotfl:

Pig Pen is right. You have to adjust the flow using the shower lever closest to the faucet. Figured this out on our 2nd stay!:wizard:

They aren't powerful showerheads, they really are painful showerheads. If I had a sunburn, there is seriously no way I could take a shower. I had to shower with the lever only far enough to switch it to the showerhead, and it's still too strong. You can have great water pressure without using showerheads that make the water come out as little springs of fury.

I'm sure I used more water because I used the faucet/bath tub as much as I could in place of the showerhead.

But...maybe I'm just a wimp... :rotfl:

With a sunburn I don't think anyone would call you a wimp, just your skin was overly sensitive.

We stayed at BLT a few weeks ago, since the topic is the shower heads...I have to ask...did the following happen to anyone else??

I am 6 feet tall exactly, and I did not like the overhead part of the shower at all (it felt like it was raining lightly on my head). So I always turned the lever so that the shower was coming entirely from the wall shower head.
When set that way, if i leaned toward the wall at ALL (to rinse) the top of the lever SLAMMED me in the forehead!!
I was 5 for 5, we stayed 5 days, and all 5 days when showering, I slammed my forehead into that d***mn lever!

Maybe its just me....

So I looked around the bath this morning, and I gotta say, I have no idea what you are talking about:rotfl:

And for the record, as others have mentioned before, turning the lever down lowered the pressure and got rid of the "laser like" shower:thumbsup2

OK, i thought i was losing my marbles, I found this picture on the allears site....you see the handle on the wall, above the hot/cold water handle?? When it was in the position in the picture, the water only comes out of the wall fixture, not the ceiling fixture...all i was saying was (clumsy me!) I kept clunking myself on the forehead when i leaned my head forward to rinse the shampoo off!

TMI, I'm out of here!!

Oh I see what you mean. The reason I didnt get it at first however was that our shower didnt have this. Our studio only had one faucet in the shower, perhaps this is something in the 1brs and up? I can see how that could pose a problem though!:thumbsup2
