Hurricane Hannahs is closing MONDAY for rehab and will reopen in December.

The solarium has been emptied and a cast member told me the fitness center is moving there (will try and confirm with another cast member tonight). The floor has been carpeted, and several water stations have been set up so it looks like it could be true.

Thanks for the news....very interesting. We were there last month & I had no idea that would be my last time walking thru the Solarium. Sort of sad to see it go.

Very disappointed to hear that. A number of times we have relatives or friends stop by to visit us when we stay at DW. And the solarium has always been the place to kick back, relax and catch up on the families.

Yes, the Solarium was one of my favorite places too. I remember last October, spending the entire day just lying there reading on the day after the Wine & Dine half marathon. The only way I'll forgive them is if they're moving the fitness center so they can enlarge Beaches and Cream. Meanwhile, RIP Solarium-

Oh, that's so sad (the closing of the Solarium)...it was definitely one of my favorite spots...can't picture a fitness center in there, altho I can't imagine why...

But hearing that the Solarium is gone is definitely making me sad...things change, I know, but this is a change I don't like...

There wouldn't be any locker rooms at the Solarium so it wouldn't seem likely that it's a permanent move. Maybe just remodeling the current location?

Saw a sign on the exit door toward BCV that says "Solarium Health Club Exit Only" last night. I wonder like someone else said if it's temporary. They carpeted, but didn't change the walls at all. DH thinks it looks temporary.

It would be nice if they improved the health club--it's really crappy for a deluxe resort--but that wouldn't make them any money so I doubt they'd do it.

The only thing I could see is adding a spa. That would be fantastic. You could rework all of the things there (B & C, arcade, salon), get rid of Ariels, and make room. I think it would make more sense than a spa at SSR and they have one there. Y & B holds a lot of weddings and conventions.

I think I'm resistant to change...I hate the idea of losing Ariel's! (I have fantasies about my DS getting married there--of course, he shows no signs of wanting to get married anywhere, but that doesn't interfere w/my fantasies!...)

I don't use health clubs/gyms (my WDW exercise trends towards long walks, jogs and swims), and I'm also not a fan of spas...but I'm just one person and probably in the minority. I did love the Solarium and made use of it when we stay at BCV...

Oh, well...life is all about change, right? Reminder to self: embrace change cuz if you don't it means you're getting old!

We're staying there for the first time in Oct. and was looking forward to the Solarium. Oh well....I was also looking forward to getting a "beverage" at Hannah's and relaxing on the beach. I'm sure I can still find a way to do that.

Oh thanks! We're heading to BCV in October. Like others I've enjoyed the solarium, but the Breezeway in the villa building is also fine for resting while waiting for ME, or for the room to be ready. There's also that other room, as you enter the villa building near Ariel, the room on the right. What's the name of that room?

Health club relocated to solarium over night. Health club being refurbed. Will move back 11/16.

HH has moved to poolside gifts. NEW hot dog takeout place going in over near health club by YC entrance to pool.

B & C not expanding.

Will keep snooping ...

OH THANK GOODNESS! This was really bothering me. I love the Solarium for sitting and relaxing. That would have been an awful long term location for the fitness area!

And for the record...would love to see B & C expand. Every time we try to get in we can't. It is always packed!
