At a loss with DHS After Hours, purchases while in the park and a Droid Depot question?

My husband all of a sudden decided he needs a Droid.

I have no clue how we do this. Do we need an appointment? If so, do we make it the same day we making dining reservations? Where do we do this?

Also for After-Hours, can you make a droid during that time? Is it still very crowded? Or if we make an appointment before the party, will they hold it for us until we leave? And if we have to carry it I'm assuming we wouldn't be able to place it anywhere for Slinky Dog or ToT? We'd purchase the backpack.

I'm pretty sure both droids and lightsabers open at midnight eastern, not 6 AM. When I checked for my visit in a couple weeks, there were still tons of availability.
I can't answer any of the other questions though. My friend made a lightsaber either during AH or just before AH....

I think I will grab a reservation for around 7:30 the night of our AH. If we find out it's too big to store on rides and they won't hold it for us, I will see if I can change to a time closer to end of AH.

If he can hold it in a backpack on rides, he can do that.

They will not hold droids (or lightsabers) for you. There are lockers at the front of the park, but I don’t know if they are big enough to hold the droids. I do know they aren’t big enough to hold the sabers. I see people taking the droids on rides all the time. I think the only ride in which it would be an issue is RnR, and it is closing on February 20 until sometime this summer, so if your trip falls in that window, then it won’t be an issue. Oga’s, Savi’s, and Droid Depot were all open for walk ups during the AH when I was there in January. I didn’t do any of them, so I don’t know if It was easy to get a spot.

Thanks. RnRC will be closed while we are there so it sounds like we can bring it on the other rides. I think we will do appointment before the AH so we don't waste time.

In the after hour reviews I saw, they said they had walk-up availability for light sabers, so maybe they have it for droids, too?

there is walk up, but as it was one of our must do.... we decided not to chance it. I made a reservation at 60 days for the 7:45 for Savi. You can enter the park at 7pm before the event starts. I was able to make reservations for both Savi and Oga's during that pre-event time.
