Asthma & Aug In Ca: Problem?

My DD5 has asthma and we have a trip planned to DL in Aug. When we went to Georgia in April her Dr told me in effect I extended her allergy season by a month because they are a month ahead of New Jersey. Now I am wondering if there are any potential health/weather issues I should be concerned about in Southern California in August.

Anyone out there have asthma/allergies? Can you give me some advice?

Our typical August weather is dry and warm. Inland there are issues with smog but overall it is not that bad. August is typically NOT a big seasonal allergy month, the only issue would be the smog, and if you stay within 10-15 miles of the coast you will avoid the smoggiest areas.

Yes, I have bad allergies & asthma. Right now, w/the changing weather, my allergies are bad. August doesn't bother me. If it's a smoggy day, I will have trouble breathing. Just remember, if she has any problems, don't try to tough it out, take the albuteral or whatever your emergency inhaler is.
I have most of my problems @ season or weather changes.

Thank you, the DISers always come through. I feel better knowing that August isn't traditionally a problem. And I certainly will have her albuterol, so I guess we are a go. I really appreciated the link to check air quality, hadn't even thought of that. Thanks.
