Asthma/Alleriges and AKL

DH has asthma and alleriges and is very well controlled 95% of the time. He takes a steriod inhaler and singulair daily and claritan during allergy seasons. A few weeks before our trip, I will have him start claritan just to be on the safe side d/t pollen allergies. Will staying at the AKL affect his asthma? He has had problems with cats in the past. I had to get rid of my cat b/c of dh. I don't want to spend the whole trip with him sneezing and wheezing.

Hello! I just returned from a 5 day trip to WDW. I only booked one night at the AKL because I have SEVERE allergy and asthma problems and I was afraid this resort would be torture! Well I am happy to say that I had NO problems at all and I am allergic to everything!! I take claritin, rhinocourt aqua, and I use an inhalor as well. We had a pool view room which I think is nicer than the savannah rooms. You might want to consider this as to cut down direct exposure to the animals if your child wants to sit out on the balcony a lot. I really loved this resort! Give it a try!

All cm's were nice to us at the AKL. We switched to the Poly for 3 nights and had really bad luck with everything. The AKL rooms are gorgeous and the tv is bigger. Also, it is nice to be inside all the time. You don't have to out in the rain to get food or go to the gift shop! Have fun whatever you decide to do!!!

I have asthma and allergies too. I take singulair and carry around a just in case Albuterol inhaler. I have stayed there several time and had no problems at AKL. It is one of my favorite resorts. I hope your husband does well there too!

We have friends with a 7 yr old who has all the things mentioned plus does breathing treatments. He never had any problems at the AKL.
