Assateague Island State Park

We are staying here for a week in June on an electric site - is there a water spigot somewhere on the way in the park where we can fill up our water tank? or should be fill up before we leave home?

Yes, there is a fresh-water spigot located on site. It is located, I believe, right between the "G" and the "H" loop. We have stayed there multiple times and absolutely love it. Just remember to pack the bug spray! LOL! By the way, we will be going in early June for 3 nights and will be staying in the H loop. It's so hard to get a spot in that loop so we feel very lucky!! Also, FYI there are some good reviews on TripAdvisor.

thanks for the info. I actually used to camp here when I was a teen with my parents (um, 30ish years ago) every summer and am excited to take my kids back to my old haunt.

Are there any restaurants nearby you might recommend in case I want a break from cooking? Not necessarily a chain type restaurant but someplace the locals would eat - a mom/pop type of place?

Sorry but I can't help out with any particular restaurant. We normally take a ride up to Ocean City, MD and will chose a place on the island, but I really can't remember the names of any of them. There are lots of places to choose from, maybe go onto rv.net and post a question there. I am sure you will get lots of recommendations! Hope you have a great time at Assateague!
