I'm sure this is a no brainer to some but not to me. We just got the chance to do an impromtu trip Dec 20-23. Our budget is tight but I'm completely excited becuase I love WDW at Christmas time. We are DVC owners but have no points left (not sure we'd get a ressie anyway) and I often travel on business. I say this to make the point that I am used to nicer accomadations so this whole value hotel idea is scaring me a bit but I have no choice at this time of year but to watch my $$. Anyway the bigger room would be nice for me and DD is 9 and swimming is key to her, so my AAA agent suggested Marriott Village Fairfield Inn becuase it was very reasonable and we could use both the indoor and outdoor pool over at the Courtyard. Since it would be December where the temps can be all over the place, I thought that was a good idea. BUT... I am also used to staying onsite so she said we could also get the ASMU for the same price. Its just that the pool would just be outdoors and the room far smaller and more basic.

Also, we would not be getting a car so either way I'd be relying on the hotel transportation.

I'm asking for opinions. HELP!!

For the transporation issue alone I'd stay on site.

Being it's xmastime, I would sure stay onsite without a car.

Even tho the Allstars room is going to be smaller, I bet your dd would prefer that over a Fairfield Inn.
