We have pofq booked for end of Feb. For 7 nights. There is just my Dh, ds who is 5 and myself for this trip. Now running numbers with the discount to be released to the public next week I'm torn on if I should switch to ASmo and for close to the same pricing with dinning added. The only value we have stayed at is AOA in a little mermaid room and my son loved all the character statues. We always change up our resorts and try something new each time and depending on budget for the year we change levels from deluxe to value. This year with the Canadian dollar going a deluxe is just far out of reach because it's thousands more when converted. I want to keep this trip at or under 3000 US so the conversion is not too nasty. Am I making a mistake switching to ASmo?

If I understand this correctly, the price to stay at ASMu, including dining, will be the same as POFQ with NO dining. Correct? The answer would depend on if you feel you would get the most out of the dining plan. Are you doing just the QS plan or the plan with TS? Are you planning on character meals? How much more would it add if you did a moderate with the dining plan? We are moderate people. Maybe one day we will be able to afford Deluxe. I guess when the kids are out of the house.

I'm also Canadian. So I know what you mean about the current exchange....I'm going in Dec for a couple of day and then for March break.

If you like to have the DDP then I would go with ASmo. I think I would go with that with or without the DDP though. I've stayed at all the values except AoA and I've stayed at POFQ as well. For me there is not a lot of difference between the 2 levels. If we are on an R&R trip, which would have us in the parks very little, then we stay mod but if we are going to parks more we stay value. If you are not around to enjoy the resort then what's the point of spending the extra money. What my kids like/enjoy also is a big factor for me...my kids are grown now but I still want to do things for them so if they wanted ASMo I would book it.

We actually do think there is a good difference between value and Mods, but since your DS is 5 he will LOVE the ASMO statues and theme. So I would save the $$ and stay there.

Yes that is what I meant. With the canadian dollar exchange every increase is a massive amount vs. years past. We have never done the dining plan, but no character dinning for us it's not our thing. I was thinking quick service plan and then pay out pocket for our few dinners like chef de france and what not.

My son does not like waterslides and we go the same week every year and most of the time it's too cold to swim. I have multiple sclerosis so big resorts like POR or CBR is are a no go for me. That is why we booked pofq this year but then I priced ASmovies and thought man we could get dining in there for the same price as staying at POFQ.

Side note we are going to the keys for the second week and we will just be relaxing the whole time there at a 4 plus star resort. So I don't need that out of the dinsey trip.

In the long run, staying at ASMo would save you money. Your dining would be paid for. If you stayed POFQ, you would still be paying OOP for food. Personally, I would do POFQ, just due to comfort. We are going in June, booking 2 rooms, and I am paying more for a moderate. I know many people like the beds at values (which are full size and not queen, by the way) and find them comfortable. We stayed in the cabins last year and the full size bed there was REALLY hard. It was awful for myself and my husband for the week. Nobody slept well. I am assuming that they are all the same (full size) so we are not taking the chance that they will not be comfortable. Again, though, in your case, your wisest choice would be ASMo. That's what I would do. Especially since you will be going to the Keys a week later.

You really cannot predict the the comfort of the beds between resorts, let alone even in the same room. We had a stay where the 2 queens beds in our room felt totally different, 1 was firm and the other was, as my DD said "mushy"

Absolutely true. You can't predict the comfort of the beds. I do know that full size beds are not comfortable size wise for us. We sleep on a queen at home. Full are too small.

Were not a fan of the full size beds either, and that is big reason why we usually try to stay at the Mods.
