My girlfriends and I are planning a short trip to Disney, we are going on a Thurs morning to Sunday night. There will be 6 of us, and we are looking to stay in one room. We are debating between a family suite at All Star Music, or a cabin at Fort Wilderness, right now we are leaning towards FW and requesting one near a comfort station, can anyone else point out any suggestions, or tips that I might be overlooking?

ASM: will sleep 6, cheaper, 2 bathrooms, longer bus rides, crowded buses
FW Cabin: sleeps 6, only 1 bathroom, more expensive ($120 more), closer to the parks

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Are you driving? If not, keep in mind the cabins may be closer to the Magic Kingdom, but you would need to first take an internal bus to get to the proper bus stop, then hop that bus to the parks.

We will not be driving, we are thinking that it would be closer to MK and Epcot so it will limit the bus time if we traveled from FW instead of ASM.

Hello I dont beleive that there are any comfort stations near the cabins.. they are separated but we are going with 6 in 3 weeks and we are choosing the cabins, love the quiet and full kitchen.. we seem to do ok with 6 and one bathroom, the only thing I can suggest is ask for one near the pool. Have fun:cool1:

I also think 2 bathrooms for 6 people is HUGE! Consideing that you have to take internal busses/shuttles at FW, to get to the main bus stop, time may not be that much different between the two places. We didn't have too much trouble with the busses from ASMu. IS it 6 adults, a family, mix? We like the suites because the kids can sleep while DH and I canstay up and get things organized for the next day.

It is 6 adults, we are a bunch of 30 year old girlfriends from high school who would rather do a Disney trip then Vegas LOL. It seems as though the rate for ASM went up and is now roughly $20 more than the cabin, I booked the cabin to lock something in and worse case scenario we can change it. Every time I have stayed at an all stars it seems to take forever getting to/from anywhere and the buses are insanely packed, so this is why I am hemming and hawing about ASM.

I'm 30 and stayed at the cabins this summer with my 3 kids, husband, and mom.

While I lovedddddd the cabins, honestly I could advise a group of 6 adults to stay there. I've done the trips with my girlfriends and I think you would really benefit from the extra bathroom at the All Stars.

I would do ASM. We stayed in the cabins last year.

The bathroom situation is not good there. Not only is it one bathroom, but there is only one sink, and it's in the same room as the toilet and tub. They have a counter area in the bedroom with a light and a mirror, so someone could do makeup or hair there while someone else is in the bathroom, but my family of five felt crowded because of the bathroom situation. We actually had an easier time at the Grand Floridian (one room) because there we had two sinks, and they are separated from the toilet/tub area.

For 6 adults, I would really want the 2 bathrooms.

We also did not like the internal bus system and the lack of CS options.

1 bathroom for 6 adults sounds like a nightmare....so I pick ASM :) Also check out the suites at Art of Animation. I think those sleep 6?

Things to keep in mind, you will not have a comfort station in the cabin loops. You will be taking internal buses as well destination buses for three of tthe four parks. You can grab the internal bus to the launch, grab a boat to Magic Kingdom, then monorail to TTC and then switch monorails to Epcot and avoid the bus, but that is one LONG journey!

In the cabins you will be charged an extra fee, per night, for the extra four adults in the cabin.

Were I in your shoes, I would seriously look at the suites at All Stars or AoA.

I would book two values at Pop over the cabins, personally.

I love the cabins, but I think anything more than 4 adults is pushing the limits for 1 bathroom. For such a short trip, and with some creative ways of getting showers/hair/makeup, you could probably make it work fine.

If you want to try this and use the comfort stations, I think there is a comfort station at the quiet pool, which is located in the cabins area. For this, I would request loops 2500 or 2600 close to transportation and hope to be close to the loop entrance/exit. Since this comfort station is in the cabin area, it might not be as busy.

I definitely agree Family Suite, or two connecting rooms at a value would be a little cheaper too.

You'd feel on top of each other in a cabin. Buses at the All-Stars work great and run often. You'll be fine.

Thank you everyone for your feedback, I switched the reservation to the suite at All-Star music. with the passholder discount it was actually cheaper than two rooms last time I checked but I'll go home and check again just in case! Thanks again everyone!

I checked and 2 rooms would be more expensive. If there were only 4 of us (2 per room) Pop Century would be slightly cheaper but because they charge the extra fee for more than 2 people it ends up being more. Thanks again everyone, I think our trip will run much smoother now that we are in a family suite. Granted we have all been best friends for 15+ years so we are very used to each other, and have been in tight quarters before lol.

I've done both. I'd pick ASM even for $20 more. It took forever to get anywhere at the cabins. Just going to the pool required a bus. Two bathrooms will be so much better.
