One more question for Kathy before I go to bed-- I gained back 5 of the 10 pounds that I lost from my clippie in my siggy. Is it "legal" to keep the clippie there or do I need to change it back to a 5 pound one? And I joined the Biggest Loser challenge (like I need a challenge to validate that!) so if I change it to the 5 and then lose another 5 did I lose 10 pounds or 15 pounds?

Hmmm... depends on my mood, I think. But the political threads are at the very bottom of my list, always. All I hear is "blah, blah, blah." We get nuts from the extreme ends of the political spectrum throwing out those tired old predictable stereotypes. I think that most of the posters who frequent only the political threads seem to enjoy hearing themselves talk... Then come the moderating complaints. One faction claims I always favor the conservatives, another claims I always favor the liberals. They've each decided that I'm on the OTHER side. Guess that means we're moderating with an even hand if we're ticking them both off equally.

I had the 15 lbs CLIPPIE

If we got points for gaining weight back I would still have my clippie...I might be on to something.

Now, this is getting scary.

I once had a lovely 50 pound clippie. But now? Don't ask. <hanging my head...>

Who determines when a signature guideline will be enforced? Do you rely on members to report them? Or do you just look for them on threads you are posting on and enforce them at that time?

All of the above. If a moderator notices a huge signature, they should send a warning and an explanation of what needs to be changed to the poster. We do get a lot of reports from posters about huge signatures, too.

It seems that receiving a notice about their own signature being too large motivates some posters to make seeking out and reporting other large signatures their mission in life. ::cop:

The truth is that signature problems are a huge pain for all of us. Enormous signatures are problematic for a lot of reasons: bandwidth and loading speed (we still have many posters on dial-up connections), as well as a distracting waste of screen space. How many times have you read a thread where many of the signatures are much larger and louder than the content of the posts?

We do hope to have a more automated way to manage signature sizes soon. Some will love it, and I'm sure some will not. But it will be wonderful to not have moderators spending so much time looking at signatures, receiving reports and sending warnings about signatures, and explaining the signature rules again and again and again.

Yep... the answer's a few pages back. David Letterman has over 700,000 posts (I think there was some tampering with the post count there) , and Nativetxn has around 56,000, I think.

2. Why can new posters or anyone else come on and make a new screen name and it be the same as another posters? I know there is at least one other GotDisney that came on after me...other boards have programs that prevent that why not the DIS?

You can't create two IDENTICAL screen names, but you can create similar names by changing the spacing, or adding special characters, etc.

3. Does your family DIS also?
