I have a question

How come LTS little green light is on saying she is online here at the DIS
BUT she isn't on MSN ??????????????:confused3

oh and just checking to see if I can see it yet

Isn't my light almost always on here? I don't log out and I don't shut down my main computer. I usually have the DIS open almost all the time and I just leave it that way when I go to bed or leave the house. I just refresh when I come back to it.

Is that a bad thing to do? Does it eventually kick me out and shut off my light?

I think that is the problem. I usually post from work during the day and size one doesn't work. :confused3

Technical question, WMK!

Some bulletin boards seem to be inundated with spam postings, often "adult" themed in nature. Obviously having moderators to quickly delete this type of post is helpful. Do the disboards use any other type of spam-preventing software to prevent spam posts? Or is it the collective effort of the mods that keep these boards in good taste and humming along?

We use on-the-ball moderators, plus measures like requiring a certain number of posts before someone's able to post links or images, blocking of certain sites, things like that. :)

And our posters help a LOT, as they are very, very quick to report anything that stinks of spam or inappropriate content. :thumbsup2

:rolleyes1

Is the moderator picture normally the first thing under the username? I can't find another moderator's post to check. WMK doesn't have a moderator picture under her name.

Brandie

ETA: Yup, it is. Dangit.

Some mods have the pic under their name, and some mods have the pic in their signature.

I would have answered but I can't see to know:lmao:

Question for Kathy-

What do you listen to during your commute?

Another fun question!!!:drive:

Depends on my mood, but it'll often be Jimmy Buffett, Los Lonely Boys, Garth Brooks, Blue Collar Comedy on Sirius, the DIS UnPlugged, various Disney collections or soundtracks, Elvis, sometimes old time Southern Gospel. Maybe even metal if DS has been playing with the radio last.

That looks a little weird, now that I typed it out... Can you say "eclectic"? :)

Speaking of Los Lonely Boys... that's my ds's favorite band. They had a concert recently in San Diego, and he went there - 2nd row center. He has long hair & was wearing it in a ponytail with a LLB headband around his head. He said one of the brothers noticed him & pointed him out to the brother who is a drummer. Later on, their dad came out on stage & the brother again pointed my ds out to the dad, who then had my ds stand up. They put the light on him and told everyone that he looked like the drummer.

My ds was so stoked. He got a free dvd from them. :)

uh.... errrrr ...

back to the questions ;)

That's so COOOOLLLL!!! I think they're just adorable.

I can just picture your DS sitting there in his bandanna. He'd be the CUTEST member of the family if they adopted him!

(Mary Jo's rascal is gorgeous, with a killer grin. )

And the drummer's name is Ringo. Really. :)

WMKathy, what is your favorite cookie?

Okay, I can see we're running out of questions. :rotfl2:

I love big, soft cookies with macadamia nuts and milk chocolate chips, with a big glass of cold milk.

But I have a GIANT pecan tree in my backyard, and I'm hoping I'll have a nice crop to make chocolate chip pecan cookies with my own pecans this winter!

:)

WMK is answering in blue in her own post!

(Back to lurking... :surfweb: )

Kathy says:

Just checking to see if anyone's paying attention. ;)

I make a 4 chocolate chip cookie. White, semi, dark and milk chocolate chips with pecans and sometimes I will also add macadamia nuts and coconut...YUMMY!

We had a HUGE pecan tree as I was growing up. After a seafood boil or with any seafood shells, bones, shrimp hulls, fish heads and etc. we would dig holes around the tree and bury the stuff. My grandfather insisted this was the best fertilizer.

We are running out of questions when we start asking why kind of toilet paper do you buy........:lmao: BTW, feel free to answer ;)

I'm headed to your house to try some of those cookies!!!

Wait... where do you live?

hey kathy,, would a large plate of homemade deep fried hush puppies be considered a healthy snack? i mean its corn and onion milk and eggs,, so its good for ya right...lol... cause thats what i'm snacking on tonight.

it'll often be Jimmy Buffett

I knew it!! Seriously, every time I hear a Jimmy Buffett song I think of you. But I sure can't remember what makes me associate him with you :confused3.

Lately I've been listening to TV show theme songs in my car. I bought a set of 2 cd's a while back that has 100 of them. There are some really good ones :music:, and they sure bring back memories.

I don't have a port thing in my car for my MP3 player, or else I'd download the DIS podcasts to listen to in the car :(.
