Ask a sassy question, get a sassy answer!

I was strongly advised not to have children due to medical issues. I use to get questions about it all the time. Until the day I looked started looking them straight in the eyes and told them that I hated children (I really don't) and thought they were a complete waste of time and energy, and that I wanted to spend ALL my money on me, me, me. Stopped all the questions. I must say I love my DD from DH's first marriage like she was my own.

My second son ended up in intensive care about 30 minutes after he was born, due to breathing problems. We didn't know what was wrong or if he would even survive and a co-worker of DH's called to say congrats and then asked when we were going to try for a girl. I said "I'd like to find out if this baby is going to live first!"

(By the way, he did live and flourished and is now 9 years old...and we never did try for our girl, cuz we felt that 2 boys completed our family. )

UGH! I always get the "but DS needs a little brother or sister" comments. He's 12 now, and it hasn't stopped yet.
