Ashley and Jeff's Wishes Wedding WP & ADH~12-2-2011~TR Day 6 Reception/Photo gallery

Very slowly I am getting things knocked off my to-do list. I contacted several makeup and hair stylists yesterday. I originally was going to use Niki Bryan with Disney just to make it easier, one less thing to go research. However, I didn't realize the updo prices on there website were not for weddings. Since I am paying for all the girls hair I am not spending $100pp plus tip. I contacted Beaute Special, Professional Elegance and Lejeune Artistry. They are all much more reasonable! I am thinking we are going to go with Lejeune but I am hoping to find some more reviews on here first. My MOH is also a hair stylist so she will be doing the flower girls, junior bridesmaid and my mom. I was planning on having her do my hair as well but she won't be here for our MK bridal shoot so I am starting to think I should have the same person do both so I get the same style. Now I just have to find some hair styles. I know I want it curly and I'm thinking half up. I also contacted Carolyn Allen's for dress steaming; that is now booked! I have been working on my newsletter for the welcome packets as well today. That is coming along slowly. Tonight I need to work on getting more organized with the wedding stuff. I need to get a lot of confirmation stuff printed and put into a folder so I make sure I have everything when we get down there. The days are slipping away fast!

Yay DF and I finally had our engagement photos today!!! This was the third attempt and the weather finally cooperated. It was a perfect day to shoot, it was a great temperature and the clouds were great for photos. We spent 3 hours with our photographer shooting all over the New London, CT area. We did some shots walking along the streets with graffiti walls. Then we went to the train station and did a few photos there. From there we went to an abandoned lighthouse. It was amazing, so beautiful. It was really windy here so hopefully we got some good pics, my hair was blowing everywhere. The views were amazing though! Then it was off to Harkness State Park. We did some great photos along the grounds of this old mansion. We then walked down to the beach area and did some beautiful shots there. It was great to work with our photographer. We learned a lot for the wedding. We were both a little uncomfortable at first but by the end Bob told us we were pros! He said we got some great shots and will be really happy when we see them. By the time we were done Df and i were exhausted. I can't wait to see the photos :)

Just jumping in but I got excited--- you must live near where I used to! I grew up in Norwich! :D

Oh very cool! I grew up in Somers which is on the boarder of MA but we are living in Vernon now so about an hour from Norwich!

Another thing checked off the never ending list. Just ordered our toasting flutes! I ordered them from Arribas Brothers in Disney. We will have them engraved when we get down there! I love them, can't wait for them to get here!

I am trying to cut the cost of our centerpieces for our Welcome Dinner in EPCOT. If anyone has suggestions and pictures of things they are doing or have done that would be awesome! Right now we are doing 3 vases filled with gel that glows and Mickey confetti inside. We are spending almost $600 on this stuff so I would like to cut it back a little!

I bid for a cake server set on ebay and won today!! It is the Walt Disney Classics Collection Cinderella Romance. It was brand new and I paid $15 for it with shipping!!!! I was very excited and its Disney! I wasn't really fond of the new cake set Disney has and some of the other ones I found online were at least 70 bucks so I was so happy with this! I will post pictures when I get it.

I am also trying to figure out what to get my Bridesmaids. I have been thinking about doing a duffel bag with their initials stitched on them since it is a destination wedding. I ordered the one I am thinking about for myself so I could decide since you can't return them because they are personalized! I also bought these small mickey pendant necklaces for them when I was in Disney for our planning session. They were really inexpensive but I loved them! I am also taking care of everyones hair. Anybody else have any suggestions??? I don't know how much I should be spending or if the duffel bag idea is weird. I have tried looking for earrings but haven't found anything I liked.

For the flower girls I am doing a basket filled with all Disney things. It is both of the girls first trips so I thought I would get them first trip items! For one of the girls I went with a Tinkerbell theme and the other princesses. I got autograph books, pens, pin trading starter sets, sunglasses and t-shirts that say Disney World 2011. I figure now they are ready for the parks! I will give them their gifts ahead of time so they can use from the beginning of the trip. The ring bearers have been to Disney a lot so I did something a little different! They have gotten big into pirates because of the new Jake and the Neverland Pirates show. Of course you cant find any merchandise from that show so I just did a regular pirates theme. They are getting pirate trading pin starter sets, t-shirts and a pirate cruise from the Grand Floridian. DF has yet to decide what he will be getting the groomsmen.

I was also trying to figure something out for my parents and my aunt who is doing a lot of diy stuff. I was going to do a spa day and golf for the guys but it is just to expensive. I decided I would get there tickets to MVMCP and I booked a dinner at the Brown Derby for our first night since nobody else will be down there.

I am following along...I absolutely love your dress and the choices you have made with floral and table linens. I am not sure if you have decided on centerpieces but I was reading somewhere on here that some people used something called wanderfuls. The website is wanderfuls.com and if you choose the right colors you could make it look really elegant and it would also serve as a favor. I just thought they were really cool looking.

Thank you! I can't wait to see everything all done! We have actually picked our centerpieces, thought I posted a picture but I guess not! That site is really cool I wish I knew about that for my shower. Everything looks so fun on there!! We can't use outside vendors for our reception because it is at the Atlantic Dance Hall :sad2:

How much are you looking to spend on your girls?? I am currently obsessed with etsy and have a few things in mind for my girls:
one is to get them personalized wine glasses:

Not sure how girly your girls are, but I also really like these wristlets from etsy (they can make them in any color for you):

If you really like personalized bags, I also got a catalog recently and found bags that I think were pretty inexpensive for embroidery (and theyre cute!)

You will have to let us know what you go with!! My girls are wearing dresses with one shoulder, so no necklace, but I am also thinking of maybe getting them a bracelet from dogeared. They have them specifically for bridesmaids and flower girls (www.dogeared.com):banana:

For your DP decorations, are you allowed to bring anything into Epcot or you can only get from Disney direct?

This is really cool! I love that idea. I was thinking I'd spend $75-100 because they have to travel. I don't know if thats a lot though, I feel like its if I did less it would be cheap. I just keep thinking I am putting people out to travel, everyone keeps telling to stop thinking like that though :goodvibes

We can't bring in anything to the DP :sad2:

We had practically no decor at our DP in Epcot. We had Cindy's coach confetti and that was it and to be honest I don't think anyone noticed! I don't think it's needed as much as in a reception hall because you've got so much going on around you - guests are awed that they are VIPs in the park, plus you've got the scenery, the noise of the park, and then the fireworks show. Also, for our DP, the tables that were set up were smaller than regular tables, and our guests had brought more "stuff" with them - purses, bags, etc (I think because they are in the park they think they need to carry stuff with them!) and all that stuff ended up on the tables. I was really glad in the end that we didn't go crazy on centerpieces or decor because unless you spend a LOT of money and really dress the place up, most of it will be lost on your guests. I think you have a really easy way to cut $$ here without anyone noticing. I hope that makes sense! :goodvibes

Cake Details:

Our cake is going to be three tiers round. The picture below is the design we using. The bottom and top layers will match our linen color and the middle tier we wanted the design to look Cinderella's Coach. Pamela had to check with the bakery to make sure we could do this. I was crossing my fingers, I love the look of this cake! Good news is we did just find out they can do it :cool1:

Top tier: vanilla cake, buttercream filling
Middle tier: almond cake, amaretto filling
Bottom tier: marble cake, raspberry filing

Linens:

We are using the Cinderella table linens that are in Francks. The cake is matching the table cloth blue color. We will being using the white chair covers with matching blue bow as well.

I just wanted to say that we used that table setting for our reception and it was gorgeous! I fell in love with it at Franck's. It will look awesome in ADH. I really thought the crushed linen added a nice touch - it was softer than the usual satin or cotton table coverings.

Oh that is so cool, I love what she did. It is so pretty :) I can't wait to see how mine turn out. The floral was the part I couldn't wait to pick out.
