So... one may be wondering why I'm writing a trip report for a trip that happened 6 years ago. There are three reasons:
1. I should be going on a trip this August, and I want to hone my TR writing skills so that when the time comes and I actually have sharp memories of a trip, I can knock it out of the park.
2. Going through my family's multimedia collection, I found that we had no pictures from this 2007 trips, only videos. I was a bit dismayed at first, but then I realized I could use the videos to make a ton of GIFs from the trip! As far as I can tell, this hasn't really been attempted before. Will this experiment pay off and become the new standard of trip reports, or will it just fade in history as a curious gimmick?
3. There are hardly any (if there ARE any) trip reports from a young male perspective! I am seeing a demographic that is underrepresented on these forums and fixing that!
Without further ado, let's get this started.
On this trip was my younger brother, parents, and myself. I was only 15 back then; it's scary how time flies. Anyway, because at this point in time social networking had not become as ubiquitous as it is now, there are no real pictures of me from that time period, so you'll have to wait until later to see me. :O
This was my 5th trip overall, and the first time we were going to Disney World in July in my living memory. We traditionally go towards the end of August because the local crowds tend to settle down considering that's when the Florida school systems start. We drove down to Florida the 4th of July, which was a Wednesday. We had some other stuff to do there as well, but Sunday morning we got up early and drove to Disney. Which hotel were we staying at?
That is the phenomenal lobby of the Wilderness Lodge! This was our second time staying there, as we first stayed there on our trip 3 years before this one.
I like how the lobby is all open up top! Unfortunately because I'm not uploading the videos, you don't get to hear the great music they play in the lobby during the day, but trust me, it's great!
Anyway, after we got into our room and dropped all our luggage, it was off to the races.
This is where the pool starts! :O
The great outdoors, Disney style!
All that water has quite a journey to get to the pool.
It was about time to get on the ferry, but...
Turns out it was 11 AM on the dot, which meant it was time for a geyser eruption!
Where were we going? Well, since we're taking the ferry, it should be painfully obvious! But for those of you still in the dark, you'll just have to wait until next time! :O
