If your not comfortable with the money. I would think long and hard about it. Wl is not a whole lot different then a moderate. If you really wan't Wl and the money is bothering you why not a non-cl room. CL is nice if you are comfortable with the money and just want to treat yourself. Dollar for dollar it's not that good a value for what you get. I know there are people on these boards that can't live without Cl. I can take or leave it. If I have some money to blow and wan't to pamper myself I would do it again. I know my ticker says Cl, but as we know my tickers mean nothing.

It's difficult when you have Ap's, and you have to budget for multiple trips. That 1400 would pay for a short third trip so that is a also something to consider. Good luck.

I do want to pamper us...and the money is technically already gone (though we could always get it back  )

I do think that for this trip, we would not be as happy at a moderate...the WL is the perfect location for our needs...and our 10th anniversary is the perfect excuse to splurge...

I want to do WL CL, I guess it's just realizing that this isn't a "value" trip like we are used to. :upsidedow

Then just try to enjoy it, and not worry about the money. I enjoyed Cl until about 1/2 way through the trip. I honestly do not want to see another danish or bagel for a long time. I am sure some people can do Cl and not feel obligated to eat the offerings. I spent so much on this last trip I didn't want to splurge on the 70.00 dollar breakfast buffets. I enjoyed Cl, but I'm not sure I have the right mindset for it. We will see what I decide next year.

As everyone knows, WL is one of my very favorite resorts so I'd stay there if I was comfortable with the $$$. It is your 10th anniversary. I've never stayed CL so I can't help you there. But if I had to give up something it would be the CL .... can't miss what you don't know. Right??? :confused3

Yeah, I am sure we will enjoy it. It's just that the 45 day mark makes it so FINAL  We will have breakfast in the lounge most days and then late night apps for about 5 of our 10 nights...to me, that was enough to justify it (in my mind)

That's how I feel about the deluxes as a whole...that's where this all stems from.

It will be fine, we are super excited about it as a whole...my inner scrooge was just wishing it didn't cost so much! :headache:

I really just need to learn to treat myself - you only live once!

Candace, I think your answer is in your post ...you have not been used to splurging on herself, staying more often at the values so you have qualms about the trip. But it seems that you want something special for your anniversary trip, it's been paid in full, a moderate is not right for this trip ... and you want to also try the CL experience. And just think, there are more expensive options to stay deluxe and CL :upsidedow so you do have a "value" in this trip!!.:goodvibes

If you won't have financial constraints with keeping the trip as is, I say go for it!! Relax and enjoy every minute!!:banana:

I know, I know...I know the answer. This is one of the reasons WL is so perfect for us, we get to try CL and see if it's something we'd like to do more often. And, it was only $25/per day more than a GV room at the Poly, which is what we moved from. If we like CL, and have the extra $$ on a later trip, I might be more willing to splurge at a more expensive resort. We kind of want to test it out to see if we would rather have CL or DDP (we have both on this trip), and it will be a good test for future trips....an expirement if you will. :goodvibes

MM I am the same way, although I have never stayed at a value I have stayed at PO FQ and CSR and WL is so much better, but then I do like the "hotel" rather than the "motel" feel

As for CL I have never booked it and when we were upgraded for free at YC neither DH nor I went there since we tend to do big breakfasts on vacation and to us it required an effort to go to the lounge for snacks, when we returned to the resort we wanted to go rest if it was afternoon and to bed upon returning in the evening

Now I did price out CL for our trip in Dec but with just the two of us I can get DxDp for a bit less than the cost of a CL room, personally for us upgrading the DP will make more sense

I would keep WL and you can always change after the 45 day mark, it will just cost you $50 if the price of your pkg costs less, not a lot when your talking about saving $1400

Candance as strange as it sounds the thing I like the most about a deluxe resort is the balcony .... love having my morning coffee and evening beverage out there. Not sure I'd want to give that up???? :confused3 And of course there are the boats .... and I do love the boat transportation! :boat:

So true!!! See the lounge breakfasts are PERFECT for my family. We are not big breakfast eaters (I hardly ever eat breakfast honestly)...but cereal, bagels and fruit is standard fare for my girls in the morning, so it's great. We actually only have one breakfast ADR, and that's our typical last day Chef Mickey breakfast.

And technically, yes, I could always still change (with a fee)...but I'm not going to!!! I'm all good. :goodvibes

I think I just looked at the date on the calendar and was like THIS IS IT. It's kind of like I've been playing musical chairs and the music just stopped. Game over! :lmao:

It's been quite the journey though. I will never book another trip this far out...never, ever again...well, except for when I book April 2013...:rotfl:

I am the same way I want my balcony!

After staying at CR, I loved the balcony! Waking up and looking at the "World" around you! So breathtakingly beautiful!

I'm thinking of surprising DBF with a quick 4 or 5 day trip to WDW in January or February since those months are considered Value Season. He wants to stay at All Star Sports. This probably won't go through, but it gives me something to do! :rotfl:

If you could afford to pay for the trip on your own you could give DBF a Valentine Present. In any case good luck. It took me years to get DH to commit to go back to Fl after he had spent An entire summer there with 2of his friends and hated it.

Had I known all I had to do was book a trip for me and my sons leaving DH home to get him to go, I would have done it years earlier

That's what I'm thinking! I was thinking of going that weekend because I will be in school and will have to work around that. I want to make it as cheap as possible and give him a taste of WDW. Who knows. Maybe he will pop the question. At that time we will be together for just about 3 1/2 years. If I can't have a Disney Wedding I want a Disney Proposal. :rotfl: I am definitely going to save all my money that isn't going toward my laptop and phone toward a quick trip to WDW. Now let's see if my parents will approve of this or not. :rotfl:

Some POP pix with the Pas gang!!
