Missy: Well, my mom and Dad were over for lunch, she didn't look as "puffy" as yesterday, and although her stomach is still swollen, she managed to eat lunch. She was in good spirits and doesn't seem to mind waiting until July 3 for her ultrasound. I am going to keep a close eye on her though.

I admit sometimes I mentally downplay her health complaints.... but I am not going to do that anymore. If I am there for her more with her health maybe I can be another set of eyes and hopefully spot danger signs that maybe my dad cannot see. I just get emotional sometimes about how life is changing, and everyone is growing older, the DD's, my parents, and us.

Okay, onto a new topic....We have the Dec 1 2013 4 night Dream to the Bahamas booked and were planning on going to WDW after for 4 or 5 nights. It looks as though we will be there for the taping of the 2013 x-mas parade.
Have any of you been during that time and if so how crazy was it? Would we just be able to avoid the crowds by going to another park that day? Is MK busy in the days leading up to the parade day? If need be, I might have to look at changing our cruise date. But I don't want to do that! DH will be shaking his head at me again!!

We were at the parade taping in 2010, and it was no big deal at all. Main Street was a zoo, but the traffic was very well managed getting through the taping area. CMs kept things moving better then any parade I've ever seen actually. No lookie-loos allowed!

Once into the lands, there was no noticeable increase in crowds. We had Frontierland practically to ourselves for a good part of the morning!

I will say that we didn't stick around to see the effect of the crowds when the taping was over (2ish I think?) and the viewers moved on to rides/attractions.

Anyway, I loved being there that morning and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Jenny my Mom passed in '91 but had a lot of Heath issues, my MIL is 79 and won't go to the Dr even though her health is on the decline and Bob will not put his foot down and make her go. It is hard when the get stubborn.

Hi Rcers, we made it though Debby just fine.

We are off to N.C. Friday for the 4th week, then back home for a week and off to Wyoming & Idaho for me with my BFF. So much fun stuff always ends up packed into a short time in the summer. I wish I could properly space vacation time to maximize the fun and lessen the stress that accompanies trying to get away from our business. But not complaining. I am so fortunate to go anywhere at all.


wdwkook: You've great instincts to call the FD. Kramer and his Cubans sure could have used your eagle eye at Susan's cabin...

Oh, those Cubans - not the ones who rolled too tightly. Your mentioning that episode made me think of "MOOPS!" and "There's nothing finer than being in your diner..."

My little Lil is sick. She's been running a fever off and on for 48 hours. We haven't had one since last night. I'm waiting on a call back from the doctor and I called in sick to take care of her. She was just laying in bed whimpering last night. It was so pathetic and sad.

Do you have an update yet on Lilly? Is her fever going down at all?

Is this a Make A Wish trip? If so I know that when my grandson had his Make A Wish trip they were wonderful about arranging a dinner with an imagineer.

Oh no. Just that he will be going to college next August so this is the official end of the traditional, family, August trips. He will be 18 next August... We want to make it special for him with all of the things he's ever wanted to do at Disney so we are calling it a wish trip.

There have been lots of bear sightings in CT lately but so far all the encounters I have had have been with skunks. Bella knows to hold back until I take a look around to make sure there are no critters around when we go out in the night hours.
Let's hope you don't have any run ins with Yogi or Boo Boo

My little Lil is sick. She's been running a fever off and on for 48 hours. We haven't had one since last night. I'm waiting on a call back from the doctor and I called in sick to take care of her. She was just laying in bed whimpering last night. It was so pathetic and sad.

I hope Heather was okay on the cruise... the weather was brutal. I kept thinking about her out there--eek!

I'm glad to be home with my doggies! We have some decisions to make this week and I'm so overwhelmed. I only worked 5 hours today and that was enough, lol. The place I like the most is far away from work--it's a major catch 22. I indulged in Vinylmations, Pins, Grey Goose Slushies, Basin, and I did make a little trip to SSR

I should be back in business soon with the other TR, and I'll be back to knowing what's going on with everyone soon!! Thanks for all the support and love!! You girls are just great--and I can't wait to be there for all your trips!!

Hi everyone...

First I have to say sorry, I seem to be coming here to vent lately or talk about my problems! Not really RCing am I? I have to share one more thing...

I am worried about my mom. She is 72, her and my dad live in a lovely little bungalow in an adult community. It is perfect for them. My mom has always had many many health issues. She had 5 kids, and gave birth back in the day when they let you labor for hours on end, and then basically pulled out the baby, no caring what they did to her body.
So needless to say she has huge problems with her bowel and bladder. She had a bout with bladder cancer about 10 years ago, just before DH and I got married. It has come back a few times, but overall she has been very lucky. But, she does get very frequent bowel "attacks" as she calls them. Her stomach swells, she has alot of pain, and it is sooo hard to watch her going through this. She has had every test under the sun, and they have basically said she has something between "mega"bowel and IBS.
The doctors have told her that one day, one of these attacks could be fatal, should she not get to the ER promptly. Anyhoo, she is having one of these attacks now, and has been since last week. I saw her today, and she is very swollen, her face is flushed, and her whole stomach is swollen too. When I first walked in and saw her I tried not to show my alarm.
She had been to the dr., and they gave her another requisition for an ultrasound on July 4. I am just so worried. I cried all the way home in the car taking DD3 to preschool. I feel like something bad is about to happen.
I don't know what I or my DD's would do without her.

Thank you for letting me get this off my chest, and I wish I had some light hearted RCing to share!!

Lil is a beautiful name-I've always loved it. We didn't know boy/girl before labor...so we had two names picked out. DS turned out to be a boy, so Lillian was out and Vince was in. I feel sure he appreciates our snap decision.
