As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Happy Friday, all! :wizard:
:lmao: My DH said I should just jump on the back. I'm sure I'll be fine with the walking though. I seem to have so much more energy at Disney.

We one one ADR for the Candlelight dining package on December 2. We made it for Teppan Edo at 5 PM, so I'm assuming we'll watch the 8:15 show. Now I just want to know who the narrator will be. We'll go that night no matter who it is.

I always seem to have unlimited energy at Disney until getting back to the hotel room... then I'm draggin'!

Good Morning Ladies!

Dimd I meant to comment on Japan!!!! Wow, that will be quite the experience, huh??

Down to 37 days!!! Still haven't brought the suitcases up....but I hope to start making lists soon...

I am already feeling nostalgic about this trip -- our last trip as a family of four. All of you guys talking about getting rid of strollers -- we have been rid of them for quite some time but next year we are going to have sooooo much gear!!!! :rotfl:

We will be finding out the sex sometime next week, thanks to all of the nifty genetic testing that was done due to my "advanced maternal age" (I'll be 36 next week!). Can't wait to find out what it is!

I can't imagine the suspense of waiting for gender! DD6 was a surprise and LO was revealed. Both were fun but I was so impatient once we decided to find out!!! It would be fun to do some sort of gender reveal at Disney!!! Pink or blue Mickey balloons!!!

Looking forward to Japan - something new and different before the strong possibility of homesteading (70% of DH's jobs are within 50 miles of where we are now, so we fully intend we will be back here and stay here after Japan)

Saw the change! I loved YC/BC!!! We promised not to judge WL too harshly because of construction but after staying YC, we have some high expectations.

Fantasy Cruise May 30-June 6

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!!!
Heather

Love the trip!!! Getting to Disney before summer crowds and a nice week on Fantasy! :hyper:

Good morning, ladies! :wave2:

Part of me wishes my DS was still young enough to truly need his stroller. I'll miss having a place to throw stuff and being able to just buckle him and go when I need to get moving. :lmao:

It's so funny you say this because DH isn't thrilled about having a stroller but still wants to make sure I'm bringing the BIG one... you know, just so LO has extra space to stretch out... that's all... no other reasons.

:wave2:

Good morning everyone! It's FP+ Thursday!

Now on to FP+. I'm going to whine a bit. :crazy2: Can I just say how much I hate the way Disney has set up the FP+ process?!?!?! It seems as though you have to repeat the steps 6 times before it's confirmed. I'm feeling really frustrated! :badpc:

We're planning on going to Hollywood Studios our first day, so getting those weren't so bad.

This isn't the experience I was hoping for. :furious:

Argh, off to try again! :smokin:

I am not looking forward to FP+ reservation time next week. I wish it was going better for you. My TA keeps saying "don't stress, it's a much quieter time at the parks" but DD is banking on and A&E M&G. And after the changing EMH screwing with ADRs, I fully plan on having to rework some more come next week.

Yes, I'm most excited about DD taking in everything! She's beginning to really enjoy Disney Jr, so we're definitely going to enjoy Disney Jr Live with her. And she also loves Minnie! In fact, she sleeps with her every night. :)

I would do Tusker House Breakfast and a Garden Grill Dinner! Fun day!
I can't wait to hear how she likes it!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!!

I am just not finding ANY TH meals!!! I went ahead and grabbed a CP that sort of works later in the week but I figure I'll check back at the 45 day point (in case some people cancel trips). So many logistics!!!!

I have been trying to get on there all day to do some ADR-stalking. Need Chef Mickey's for a different day of our trip now. :headache: You would think a company as big as and as profitable and Disney could get a really good website. :furious:

I am so OVER the Disney website!!! ADR system was down most of yesterday and took several tries to look stuff up today. I managed to find an ADR that sort of works but it's almost like some extra times were released (there were three times in close range that weren't there two days ago).

I have a confession...I'm a resort changing addict.... I have changed resorts for the 4th and final time...we were at POFQ to start, changed due to no kids this trip. Upgraded to WL, but changed due to construction. 3rd was ASMu, we're not going to be in the room that much, right? But beds are doubles, DH is 6'5" :( so I made the 4th and FINAL move to Coronado Springs Resort. Never stayed at CSR but looking forward to it!
WELCOME!!!
I have been told numerous times CSR is like a Deluxe-lite, so I'm sure it will be great! We are staying there at Christmas and I'm really excited (it looks beautiful!) Wish you all the luck on your planning!

:welcome: I would love to stay at CSR.

Well, a deputy tried to deliver papers to me last night, but my mil said I wasn't home. I know they are from that almost wreck, since the mother thinks the State Trooper is lying about her son speeding. I am just ready to get this over with already. My friend's hubby takes his PT test this weekend. I'm using all this stress to get some organizing done. Well I gotta get back to the organizing. I am detemined to move our massive 9 draw chest of draws with a huge mirror. I need to move it to get a shelving unit in between it and the wall.

Oh man, I hope it settles down for you! I had drama with a State Trooper recently - I hydroplaned into a trooper car 3 years ago... totally my fault (and the rain) but damage was minor and everyone declined medical. 18 months later, I get a letter in the mail from a lawyer saying they are suing for $60k for pain and suffering and lost wages! :scared1: I was freaked and referred to insurance.
On our own, DH and I looked up his name and saw 10 days after the accident, the local paper wrote a police blotter that had him chasing down a suspect on foot for 5 blocks before tackling and apprehending him. If he was so injured from my accident, how was back and work and hoofing it after a druggie???
It took a year but my insurance company settled for FAR less. I was still ticked they settled at all (worker's comp should've covered him since he was on duty and that should have been covered by initial insurance claim), but I felt the whole thing was super shady.

I made room only reservations on Wednesday afternoon for Nov 2015 at AoA (nemo suite). I called this morning to change to POR. Both sets of grandparents are coming, and instead of dealing with the possibility of there being no LM rooms at AoA (and consequently listening to some family members complain), I figured it would be best to move. The plus side is I saved us $700 changing from a suite to a garden view room

Speaking from experience, space is the MOST important thing with ILs and extra family!!! We did 7 (6 adults, 1 child) in 2 rooms and never again... we now have 12 in 4 rooms at Christmas and some of us are secretly hoping they are spread around the resort. ;)
POR is beautiful and will have some great places for the grandparents to sit and relax in shade and the kiddos to play!

DH and I got to go to the Orioles/Nationals game last night in Baltimore - my fave city!!! We spent the night in the Inner Harbor and hung out late into the evening at a cigar bar with some friends. LO stayed with my folks so it was great to get a kid-free experience for the first time in forever!!!

I have been ready to throw shoes at the online reservation system but managed to finally get some order to September. I'm positive when FP+ opens next week it'll mess it up all over again... *sighs*. Debating a CP package in Dec -- think the kiddos will be too young to enjoy it and we'll be leaving country soon after we want to spend time with the extended fam. Decisions, decisions... :confused3

*HUGS* to all and I hope you have a brilliant weekend!!!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm already thinking of the things I can spend the savings on :)

Oh, the possibilities are endless! :lmao:

It's so funny you say this because DH isn't thrilled about having a stroller but still wants to make sure I'm bringing the BIG one... you know, just so LO has extra space to stretch out... that's all... no other reasons.

I wish my DH would go ahead & let me bring one or rent one. I really think my DH is going to be wishing pretty quick that I had gone ahead and rented a stroller for our DS.

I am just not finding ANY TH meals!!! I went ahead and grabbed a CP that sort of works later in the week but I figure I'll check back at the 45 day point (in case some people cancel trips). So many logistics!!!!

Hope you end up getting a TH meal. Don't give up! I'm sure you've probably already done this but just in case.....have you found the ADR cancellation thread for your vacation month on the dining boards? People are always posting that they're going to cancel hard-to-get ADRs.

I am so OVER the Disney website!!! ADR system was down most of yesterday and took several tries to look stuff up today. I managed to find an ADR that sort of works but it's almost like some extra times were released (there were three times in close range that weren't there two days ago).

I had even tried the app & that wasn't working either. :furious: I wish they'd release some extra times for Chef Mickey's in October. I really need a breakfast on the Friday morning now instead of Tuesday. :headache: I was able to snag breakfast @ 'Ohana that Friday morning just in case & my DS said he was fine with that. But, I know how much he loves Chef Mickey's & really want to get it for him.

Sweet!! That one works.

I wonder if I can convince the DH to do a Universal/Beach trip sometime soon. hmmmm......you really have me thinking.

WOO HOO!! :banana::banana:

The DH and I had to go to the store to get the seasoning he uses when he makes burgers, and my green tea. As he was driving, I brought up going to Universal and he shot it down quick. His parents went to Universal and his dad said that the Men In Black ride (I think that was the one) was a little snug on him. The DH is convinced there will be a lot he can't do. He said that he won't go to Universal until he loses some weight, which he isn't even trying to do.

Well wish me luck. Tomorrow morning I start taking a morning walk. Then on the nights my mil feels like taking a walk, I'll walk with her as well. I just know she won't be able to do what I'll be able to do at first, so I want to make sure I get in at least one good work out per day.
Hope you can get DH on board with a Universal trip! We can't wait till August, 3 days pre wdw. Haven't seen either Harry Potter attraction. Tell DH Men in Black is only one attraction. I think there will be plenty he can go on.
I'm starting walking too in prep for the parks. Don't know how my knee will hold up, I didn't want to have to wear my knee brace in August, so hot, but may have to.

Janet when you get a chance my trip is actually 8/16 - 9/1. There I go adding on more days! :rotfl2:
 yay for more days!! Love it! We are there from 8/20-9/3!

:cool1::thumbsup2:hyper::worship:

A new thread!!!!!

:wave2: I'm a little late :upsidedow but here. Thanks Pas for creating our new location!

Janet, you can add our 2015 dates ::yes::

Love the pic of WL dock!! And yay for next cruise!! Who's the cast of characters this time?
When does that unmentionable thing start for you? :faint: early August is it? :crazy2:

I did it!!! Check the ticker.....:rotfl2:

Yay!! I saw your post on BC page :goodvibes

I think summer is moving too fast!! Where's the slow button :confused3

In making my list of my choices one of the interesting choices was where to put the Polynesian on it. Since this particular trip is late April, and some of the main lobby (so I've read, don't know how true it is) construction will be finished supposedly March or April, do I take the chance and stay there? Or just visit? YC/BC CL is first choice, Boardwalk, GF & Poly (CL rooms) make up the rest of the list (followed by all the others cause I have issues making up my mind on this) But as for The Polynesian, do I take the risk when it comes time for booking for me this fall, or does it get put further down on the list behind something else?

With Flower and Garden, I'd book an Epcot resort (feeling that may book up first), but that is just my opinion. However, I will disclose I HATE construction, even minor stuff. We owned points at SSR when they were still finishing up, and it was just troublesome to see unfinished buildings ans such. We were more park heavy back then, but I just don't know that I would chance it. :confused3

I am such an idiot!

Did you get fastpasses??

DH and I spent this afternoon finalizing our plans. You really do need to set some time aside to do FP+. It's definitely not for someone on the go. :rolleyes1

And yes, I'm anxious to see how DD does with the characters. She LOVES her "Nee" (Minnie) so I'm hoping it'll be ok. I'm kind of kicking myself in not booking a character meal but I figure we have many of those ahead of us in the upcoming years ahead. :yay:

No TH? Bummer! Keep looking! You just never know! :goodvibes

Did you get fastpasses??
Yes we did!
One in the late morning (10:55-11:55am) and the other for right after our BOG meal (8:05-9:05pm). I'm not touching those!

Anyone know of a good master packing list for those with little ones? I'm nervous about forgetting something important.

I always seem to have unlimited energy at Disney until getting back to the hotel room... then I'm draggin'!

That's exactly how I am. Then again, I seem to have a lot more energy on vacation no matter where we go than on our normal every day life.

I finally got in touch with the deputy. He was confused when I wanted to make sure I was home the next time he came by. He said most people hide/ avoid him. Honestly, as hot as he was, I can't imagine anyone hiding from him. Anyway, I explained to him the details of the case, so he would understand why I was so anxious to get this case over. When he got here, I had to put an item of clothing on that I never wear at home (not sure if it would get me in trouble putting the actual name on here, but it's a 3 letter word and it comes in cup sizes). Anyway, when I got to the door, as he handed me the paperwork, he said, "I read through the papers. They are complete B.S."

Hope you can get DH on board with a Universal trip! We can't wait till August, 3 days pre wdw. Haven't seen either Harry Potter attraction. Tell DH Men in Black is only one attraction. I think there will be plenty he can go on.

Right now, he won't even talk about it. Maybe after we take a few of the trips he wants to take (like Washington D.C., and Yellowstone), he'll be willing to talk about it.

Nothing going on here. I'm just watching t.v. and knitting.

Hope y'all are having a relaxing weekend. Stay cool!!

We are back!! Trying to get caught up... :-)

We always drove with the kids so if we forgot anything we could run to Walmart..I am sure there is one on the boards! AWESOME SDMT times! Your LO will love the characters!!

Welcome home, how's your DH holding up?:flower3:

:cool1: Welcome Home!!

Finally read through the 9 pages of the new thread! Won't even try to respond to everyone though. :-)

Few quick things...LOVED WL!!! I don't think I can say that enough. DH liked it too and the kids lived the bunk beds. :-) perfect for our family! I would definitely book it again. I may even like it more than the Poly! We had pretty good luck with transportation there too. :-)

Went to Ohana for breakfast our last day and it was sad seeing the Poly the way it was... :-/

Definitely a deluxe girl...did not enjoy POR...

Epcot fireworks on the 4th were the most amazing I have ever seen. I say they were even better than MK's! The only part I did not enjoy was the fact that during the last song "God Bless the USA," some of the South American tour groups (extremely annoying as they already were) starting singing/chanting their own song...I found it offensive at that point in time...

Oh no... Why didn't you enjoy POR?

Happy Monday Morning!!! :wave2:

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Nothing much to report here :upsidedow Can't believe we go back to school in 3 1/2 weeks  The summer has flown by for sure.

Did y'all see the news? Power failure on the monorail :crazy2: Around 100 passengers had to be evacuated from the train. No injuries. But can you imagine having to climb out of that thing!

Koh... Welcome back!!!! So happy to hear you enjoyed WL!!! Sorry about POR. What happened?? I hate hearing that...we had such a great experience. Thank heavens for tons of resort choices, right?! And the Poly is a mess, isn't it.

Candace...Hope you are feeling well :goodvibes No more changes, right?!

Sue...Same cast of characters ::yes:: my parents will going again, but my sister's family can't. They will still be in school. We get out an entire month before them. And did you see my opening paragraph?? 3 1/2 weeks!!!

Dimn... Did the app ever start working again?? Happy to hear y'all had a kid free weekend:thumbsup2 That's needed every now and then.

Pas... You working today?? Or taking it easy?? I'm guessing a mother of 5 rarely takes it easy :upsidedow That was a stupid question

wookie... What did you knit this weekend??

Piglet ... Is everything done?? All FPs??!! Once you figure that system out, it's not too bad. Just figure it out before the last day of your trip  like me

Traveller... I'm with Pas. If you're doing F&G, then an EP resort is the way to go. And who knows about the Poly. :confused3 It's a mess right now.

Amanda...

Hello all! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

wookie - I hope you get all that drama sorted out soon... sounds like a total PITA!!! Also, HIGHLY recommend trips to DC and Yellowstone/Tetons - having spent oodles of time at each I can't get enough! And, if it opens from Orlando doors, it's totally worth it!

So glad you had a great trip and glad to hear you liked the WL bunks. I'm sad to not have the pool at WL on our trip but I do think the beds/resort will be enough to make it fun. I was also not bowled over with POR but did see what others loved about it... just wasn't our taste.

Hope you were able to relax sun - vacations always seen to need a vacation to recover!

Summer has been so quick! And I am so glad I wasn't on the monorail - I hate heights and that would've probably made me antsy.

I had so many issues booking ADRs this weekend! Even on the computer, I would see something and it would disappear as I booked. I chased a 1p ADR for CP for 3 hours because it kept appearing and disappearing. I tried to call but just as I was getting a CM, I was able to grab it. The CM said they had been having trouble with seeing availability as well so it was just fun for everyone.

Hope everyone has a good Monday! We're supposed to get some nasty storms tonight so I'm not looking forward to a scared kiddo and shaking pups. Top it off with some fillings I have to get done in a few hours and it's a day of fun! :lmao:

:wave2: to all and *HUGS*

Good morning!

Looks like y'all must start school back around the same time as us. We have meet & greet to meet Reid's 1st grade teacher on Aug. 7th. Then their 1st day of school is August 12th. It's definitely going by quick! We went & bought school uniforms this past Friday. And, of course, a new backpack with matching lunchbox. This year, it's all about Ninja Turtles for him.

Heather sure did see opening paragraph :scared1: and remember you're not allowed to say that name yet!!!:sad2:

My news, I'll be MIA for a few days. Hubs & I are going over to west coast of Vancouver Island to a friends Cabin on the coast. Leaving daughter home with the animals, lol. Very rustic, no inside plumbing, Internet, etc.

I can't believe 23 more days till we leave for Florida  but am I the only one who starts panicking the sooner my trip comes up, the more I get :scared1: that it will be over too soon :confused3. I know, I'm crazy!!

Oh no... Why didn't you enjoy POR?

Just little things really...and remember, this is coming from someone who has stayed at the Poly 2 times, the Beach Club once, and now POR and WL...before that offsite at the doubletree Suites. I think I am just spoiled...DH and I both (and the kids too) would have rather been at WL the whole trip (even if it meant a bit shorter one).

We were super close to the West Bus stop which was nice, but had to stop at all the rest before leaving the resort which made the trip seem longer than WL stopping at GF before heading to a park. Lack of storage space, small room especially if you had the Murphy bed open (which we did), didn't care for the bathroom layout, long walk to the main building and wasn't impressed with the food court (very slow and not the greatest food IMO). But then again, we don't usually do too many QS meals, but this trip had quite a few more than usual. And the beds were not that comfortable. Seemed thinner, softer, and dipped in the middle...

I will say the grounds were gorgeous and relaxing and super quiet and I would have liked to have time to do the carriage ride and fishing, etc.
