Hi,

Family is staying at AS-Sports in Early January.

DD8 has some sensory integration issues, mostly visual. DD5 has mostly auditory sensitivity. So want to be in a quiet, not too stimulating area.

However, she also has low muscle tone and fatigues easly, so don't don't want to be too far away from food court, bus stop, etc.

Any suggestions on what room(s) to request that may be a good compromise for our situation?

Thanks for your help!

If I were you, I would call CRO and see if they offer any special needs upgrades to a moderate or deluxe (the Contemp would be ideal) The All Star resorts are sensory overload by design.

The Contemp. would be the best, low key Disney with the added benefit of the monorail.

I have heard of special upgrades before...give it a try. If not, go for the football section facing the road....

I agree with HandyMom. The Value resorts are designed to be visually vibrant with the giant brightly colored icons. I would say you would be OK with any building except for the pool side of Surf's Up which would be pretty loud. Football might be the best as it is fairly close to the main area.

Does the 5 year old have poor muscle tone, or is it the 8 year old? I ask because I would bring a stroller for th 5 year old anyway. My 6 year old DD tires at WDW and uses her stroller at night. If it's the older child, a rented double stroller will hold them both at the parks.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've never heard of the upgrade before. I hope they will do something like that. I used the 2006 special going on (free ticket add-ons), and at the time, no mods were available using the special for dates I needed. I was thinking Cont, but in all honesty, out of price range even for a few nights. I'll give it a try, though.

DD needs OT, PT & speech. DS has it alittle, but only gets speech and OT (doesn't fatigue as easily).
We'll prob get a stroller for MK. Not sure about others, yet.

Thanks again. I'll post what happens.

When I called (was I supposed to call 407-W-DISNEY?), the representative had not heard of that, but said if I wanted, she could check availablity for a change. Cost would be difference plus a change fee.

This is what they advertise and what I expected. I guess if everyone called and said they'd like to be upgraded due to special needs, all of a sudden everyone would have them (or at least people hoping to get away with it. ;) )

:flower: (I'll probably get some responses on that one.) :flower:

Anyway, I put in a request for The Touchdown section (bldgs 7 or 10). I hope that works out. Thanks to everyone who posted. Wish us luck!
