As Promised....Pictures of Disneylands Dream Suite!!

I don't recall seeing a bar either . . . .

Daisy--did your guide tell you about the WD and RD initials on the railing? Apparently they have always been there but were gilded with gold and put back on the railing as part of the Dream Suite rehab . . . .I didn't see them but we didn't take time to look and it was dark--will take a peek the next time I am there since you should be able to see it outside.
We saw the WD & RD initials earlier in the day during the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. Did you see the clock and mirror in the living room change...the clock showed Geppetto and Figaro and the mirror changed to the castle. I finally downloaded my pics, but I'm not sure how to put them on here.

DH and I were there the last day before they closed Disney Gallery. The rooms were absolutely beautiful when it was just the Gallery, now they are breathtaking. Thank you so much for sharing our pictures.

I don't recall seeing them before they refurbished it. But here are some pictures of the Initials.

Your very welcome glad you enjoyed the pictures.

What happened with the Mickey Mouse suite? They still giving that one out as well?

Thanks for all the beautiful pictures. It would be a dream come true to win a night in the suite when we are there June 34-26. The girls would love it. They are 13 and 14.

We were there on Saturday night as well! But get this......there was a winner in our tour group! Yep, that's right. There was a family who had won a stay in the suite on February 6th. They said that they were coming off Mr. Toad when they were selected. I asked if they got any sleep that night, and the mom said she only got about 2 hours - can't say that I blame her. They were fairly local - Van Nuys - and just slept in their clothes. There are robes provided for the winners use. Our tour guide said that they actually have a van just for the winners to take them to their hotel to get the luggage, etc.

Here's some other cool things I didn't see mentioned:

On the inside patio, the trees light up with fireflies similar to Pirates and the background music of Pirates is playing also.

In the master bedroom, the picture behind the bed is of a nice, pretty lagoon in the day and at night (maybe as part of the goodnight kiss?) mermaids come into the picture.

I may have missed this part in previous posts, but when the starry sky comes out in the bathtub, there's a Mickey made from stars. I saw a good pic of it on Mouseplanet. I don't know if DH was able to get a good picture.

In the Frontierland room, when the train comes out of its case and goes around the track, many of the items on the shelf animate. Winner dad said there's a lion that roars, the boat rocks as if on a wave, etc.

Once the park is closed and the guests are gone, the winning family will get their own after dark tour of the park. It doesn't cover the whole park, but they get to see things most of us mortals don't. Our guide mentioned that they get to go the pet cemetery at Haunted Mansion.

The one sad part for the winning family, they have to check out by 9:00 a.m. To make up for it, the Dreams team buys them breakfast. It's not a part of the prize, so the Dream team absorbs the cost.

Based on the day I was having - very cranky, tired 1 y.o. - I contemplated not going on the tour. I can't tell you how happy I was that we didn't miss it. It was truly unbelievable. I probably won't get to stay there, but I'm glad that I got to see it and meet a family who stayed there. I must admit, I was pretty psyched a DVC family won!

Is there a cast member there throughout the night in case you need something or an emergency? Better yet, to prevent you from going out and exploring the park? I don't think I could resist that temptation of not going out and checking everything out while it is empty.

Yes, there is a cast member there at all times and they essentially do a "lock down" after you come back from the after hours tour so you can't go exploring on your own!

We must of had the same tour guide at 11PM as he mention the family to our group.

Wow. How awesome that a family on tour won it!! What an incredible experience. Thank you so much for sharing!!!!

Even if I never win it, I like looking up at it and thinking of what magic some family is having, spending the night in the Park...!:goodvibes

I wonder, does the lock down include the balcony overlooking NOS? I mean, do they close the door and lock it after a certain hour, or are you able to sit out there all night and watch the after hours happenings? :)

If not, that would be where I would be all night! I'd sit out there and freeze if it were that could to get a sneak peak at the Disney magic! :wizard:

WOW... I would die. Literally die, I wouldn't even be able to stay.

We are going for the 1st time at the end of the month... so my fingers are already crossed. :cheer2:

How do you get chosen? Just by being there and someone walks up to you and gives you the good news?
