AS Movies V.S AS Music

Hi ! We are thinking of staying at one of the All Stars and i wanted to hear your opinion if Movies is better than Music?

I've not stayed at either one of these resorts but I have stayed at All Star Sports. For some reason the time we went, sports was cheaper even though none in our party were big sports fans. I will say it was the best decision for us because we used Disney transportation. If it's a day where there is shared transportation, busses will stop at sports first, then music and finally movies. Sometimes the bus would be completely packed by the time we got to music. If I was to pick between the two, I'd say music because of that reason.

When are you planning on going? They're currently renovating Movies so depending on when you go, you'll have much better rooms at Movies, so that would be my vote. Besides that, all three are very similar, so I'd just choose based on which theme you would like best (movies or music).

They're basically the same but I think the layout at Movies is better. And as someone else mentioned, movies is undergoing a refurbished so depending on when you go you could have a brand new room.

We have stayed in all three and like them all. For convenience, we pick ASSp. For adults only, we pick AASMu. For kids or Disney animation buffs, we pick ASMo.

Both ASMu and ASMo have a min building where the food court and shopping are located. Buses are located out front. Then the rooms are in the 10 outbuildings. In ASMu the buildings are aligned more linearly so that the layout has many standard rooms further away from the amenities. Movies and Sports have a different layout that are more closely arranged around the main building. This layout means that fewer rooms have any distance from the amenities and that none of the furthest rooms are at distances that are difficult.

ASMo has the theme that appeals most to young children, I believe. That is important to some families. ASMu has the more 'adult' theme of the All Stars, IMO. If you book at ASMu i would suggest staying in a preferred room.

Often buses are not shared by the three AS's but when they are, as PP said, they usually go ASSp-ASMu-ASMo. So Sports gets the slight advantage on bus pick up/drop off.

If you go when rooms are freshly renovated, ASMo might be a really nice choice for the freshly renovated room.

We went for all star music as we are in our 20s and just the two of us so it just needed to be a place to sleep and it was cheaper than movies. However if it was with young children I’d go for movies as the icons are great!

When? Right now I think it's just buildings in the Toy Story section that are being worked on now (9&10). Full completion is expected in February.
