Have you stayed in a campground that is as good as the Fort? Maybe a different atmosphere or "feeling" to it, but one that you enjoyed just as much?

Where was it and what did you like about it?

Quite frankly, napria, no I haven't found anywhere better than the Fort.

Oh, to be true, there are few places more EXPENSIVE than the Fort (down in the Fla Keys). But that's measuring by $$$$$. :rotfl2:

I have a favorite state park just off the Gulf Coast in Alabama in Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, AL. But it's not the Fort.

Honestly, I don't know where else you can get the Fort value. I'm looking forward in a few years when I can travel off-season. But right now the Fort is the cat's meow.

We've been RVing for nine years and haven't found anything else as good, either. Our second favorite place is a Corps of Engineers campground on a lake 20 minutes from our house, but last year they cut it down to only Thursdays -Saturdays. And it has no amenities other than a bath house and the lake.

Makes me crazy when I see "luxury RV resort" and we get there and it's a so-so campground. I'm spoiled by the Fort!

Nither have I found a campground that's all around as good as the Fort,,
however if ya want a comfort station AS nice or NICER then the Fort then go to the River Edge campground at Sevierville, Tennessee.
Really nice bathrooms, :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We've been RVing since 2001 and haven't found anything as nice as the Fort. Can't believe we waited until 2014 to try it out my husband wants to go back and just camp at the Fort. We also camped at River's Edge in Pigeon Forge, Tn Halloween 2014 and it does have really nice bathrooms!

Well, we are going to "Dollywood" this year and there are a lot of campgrounds there. Never been there before but we will let you know how "Mill Creek" campground is. (July 2015)

bump .... b/c it is a really good topic.

sadly, we have been mostly disappointed every time we go to an RV resort. I am thinking of just sticking with high ranked KOAs .

Thanks for the "Bump" to this thread. Our stay at Mill Creek while visiting Dollywood was nice, but it sure wasn't the Fort. It was a basic RV Park. The lots were kind of small and packed together. It was also on a hill. The store/lodge (or whatever you want to call it) was at the bottom of the hill as was the pool. Basic pool nothing special though. The only comfort station was also in this building and had 3 showers (at least on the men's side).

It was clean though and the people were friendly and nice. I would stay there again, but now our TT is a newer one that is about 10' longer. Might be more of a challenge though.

The amenities and classy factor - Anchor Down in Dandridge, TN

The places we enjoy as much - but in a much different way - Elkmont in the Smokey Mtn. National Park - the beautiful relaxing factor. Acadia National Park right on the rocky Atlantic Ocean in Maine.
