As God is my witness, I'll never wear polyester again!

Loved reading about your family nights. Game nights are the best. We used to fight over Monopoly and Risk! We'd keep the board set up for days. Great job on your eating!

Congrats on your loss!!! That's fantastic! Time to burn the suit! And, congrats on getting your DD to high school...another big accomplishment! I had to laugh when you mentioned the boy checking her out...good luck for the hurricane of boys to follow ;)

I love your ideas for craft night/game night/etc. Speaking of fairies, I just saw recently that Disney came out with a line of fairy merchandise/books, all connected to Tinkerbell, like Tink and her posse of friends. Looked cute, anyway.

Have a great week! :)

Congrats on the loss!!! That is great!

Hope you are having a great day. Keep up the good work!

Yesterday was really good. I had 5 points left over. So I erased 5 flex points from the weekend. :wizard: It may not be legal but I consider it fair.
Also had a good water day 72oz.

Today is looking pretty good as well. I have 11 points left for tonight.

The fairies were very frustrating. They were so darned tiny that we could hardly manage them. About 1/2 the length of your middle finger. After I went to bed last night I was thinking about it and suddenly I realized that I used the lengths in the book to measure. But the instructions said we would need a ruler. :magnify: The length in the book was about 1/2 the size the fairy should be. Dum Da Dum Dum Dumb!

I know I need to incorporate the exercise, but I think I need to get a few more lbs behind me first. If I try to tackle too much it could make me throw in the towel.

Had an interesting visit to my Dr. I told him I had started WW. He sort of scoffed and showed me some pills and mouth spray he was taking. He had lost 25lbs and says he eats anything he wants. It curbs the appetite so he did not eat as much. It's herbal not RX and he told me where to get it ($130-3 mos supply). I just really don't believe in pills (for me). It has always ended in disaster. Does anyone else think this is wierd that a Dr. would promote appetite suppressant over a healthy eating plan?

Christin- I will have to check out Tink and her friends. Tink is DD 14's favorite.

Sounds strange to me, but maybe it works for him. I would love to be able to just pop a pill every morning and lose weight. Don't forget that he's a doctor and he probably doesn't get many chances to eat during the day. If I went all day without eating much, I would lose weight too!! :flower:

Firemen are standing by for when you BURN THE POLYESTER!! :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight

Firemen are standing by for when you BURN THE POLYESTER!!

Thanks Karyn!! Everyone here at my office was just staring at me for LOL.

Yesterday was another good day. Used 1 flex point. Drank 64oz of water. I made red beans and rice and cornbread for dinner. I don't eat the red beans, but the cornbread was delicious! And it was only 2 pts per slice. I could almost make a meal out of that and a cup of milk.

Today will be stacked cheese enchiladas for lunch. I am off this afternoon so I can actually go home for lunch.

DD(14) b-day cake has been on my counter since Sat. and I have not had so much as a bite of it. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I don't have any major social events or trips for the next few weeks so hopefully no temptations. I would really like to get some more lbs. lost before my Vegas trip Sept. 19th. Historically I have always bombed an out of town trip. I really want this one to be different.

2 days till WI. I can't weight!! Ha Ha. (wait)

I do think that is weird for a Dr to recommend diet aids like that... Usually they are against that sort of thing and all about eating healthy.

Congrats on avoiding the cake!! That is the hardest part - when something is sitting on the counter (cookies, cake, brownies). I know my kids are having a cookie dough fundraiser coming up soon. Watch out!!!

You are doing great. Have you tried incorporating a little walking into your daily routine? That counts as exercise and it isn't too extreme.

Cindy, I agree that your doctor's statement seemed a little unusual. Most dr's highly recommend WW. Maybe he owns stock in those mouthsprays! Congrats to you for sticking with what works.

Yesterday was a bummer. Went to WI and gained .2 lbs. I swear she could have reached across that counter and slapped me and I would have been less shocked. She asked if I normally wore jeans to WI (I don't) and that can add 1lb.

So I went home and weighed my jeans and normal work pants on my WW food scale. There was a 16.75 gram diff. I got on the computer to translate into lbs. Only .04 lbs. So not the jeans- although I'll never wear them to WI again.

I made a trip with 3 co-workers to a client's office. We brought do-nuts. I resisted the do-nuts, but they gave us 3 dozen do-nut holes. They look so innocent those little holes. And oh so yummy! We had to drive 45 min to the place and my co-workers were passing around the bags and my food-slapper had the day off so I broke down and ate 10 :crazy2: 10pts. I hate that I did this, but I can't believe that those do-nut holes cost that much on the scale. I had the flex points to cover them.

I was so depressed. I wanted to go out to eat. I was trying to decide between El Chicos (yummy cheese dip) or Copeland's (white chocolate strawberry cheesecake that could make you slap your food-slapper). Just as I was poised to leap from the wagon- I stopped myself. I had cereal and toast w/jelly.

I have to move on and quit obsessing about yesterday. Today is a fresh week. You couldn't pay me $10 to eat a do-nut THIS week!! Hopefully I'll see big progress next WI.

Now that you have gotten the doughnut holes out of your system, you can continue with life!! I was drooling last night over Chip's Ahoy cookies. If I ever get started eating them...

Just hop back on the wagon, and ride off into the sunset. Maybe your food slapper is driving the wagon!! Yee-Ha!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I can't believe you weighed your pants! That is hilarious! It is funny to me because I am so obsessed with the scale I probably would have done the same thing. Sick minds think alike...

You are back on track which is what counts the most! I think I gained 1 lb just reading about that cheesecake. :lovestruc You did great by resisting the urge to go off the deep end!

Hang in there, you are still doing great! And you have an awesome attitude to start the new week.

OMG! You're a better woman than I...that cake would have been in my mouth so fast! Congratulations on the will power!

Sounds like you are really doing well and making fantastic choices!

Have a great weekend! :)

Hi!!!

Way to go for not giving into the temptation of eating out just because of the donut holes! That was great.

Don't kick yourself too hard for the holes.....today is a new day and you can pick yourself up and start over.

Hope you are having a great weekend. Keep up the good work

Crazy day yesterday. I live in central Louisiana- 3 hours from New Orleans. I don't watch alot of news on TV (too sensational and depressing) and really did not realize until I got a call yesterday morning from my frantic sister in Memphis wanting me to head up there that Katrina was so ominous.
We are really too far west for it to affect us, but I do have some friends that I am worried about.

As for food- I really did not give much thought to what I ate yesterday and used 8 flex points. This is probably not too bad since I had a house full of family all night.

I have not had another do-nut since the hole disaster of 8-25. ;) Water intake was poor due to the weekend and I hope to get back on track today.

There is major major temptation here at work. We sell the World's Finest Chocolate bars as a fund raiser here at the credit union from time to time. They are everywhere. We will probably have them for 4-5 weeks. The only chocolate I like better that this is Belgian chocolates. Why is this happening to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK enough whine. I feel really bloated today. Hey that is still whine isn't it? Just on to a different topic now. I just feel yuck. Tomorrow will be better.

What is it about credit unions and World's Finest Chocolate?? I worked at a CU before moving here and we ALWAYS seemed to have World's Finest Chocolate around. I finally ate so much that I can't eat it anymore!! It took a long time for that to happen, though...

Take care during the storm.

Hey, Cindy! Everytime you look at those chocolate bars, think about how you felt after eating the donut holes and then just look past the chocolate. You did so well avoiding the temptation of eating out for some of those yummy foods -- don't give in to temptation that will lead to regret! Just think about how great you are going to feel at the end of each day if you can acknowledge that you faced that temptation down and emerged victorious!

Good luck! :grouphug:

I hope everyone you were concerned about is unscathed by the storm. Property can be replaced, people can't!

The last couple weeks have been a real downer for me as well. I hope it ends soon. Hang in there, and step away from the chocolate! Just pretend there is something really gross in them like crickets or cockroaches...

Hey guys! I have been just terrible about the posting, but I have been so depressed about my state and the refugees here in my city. I went yesterday and signed up to volunteer with the Red Cross. I did not really realize what I was getting into because they were so crazy busy there. Anyway I took a class and I am now a certified shelter management person. They are desperate for volunteers. The existing shelters are full and they are opening lots of new ones and need staff.

My workplace is mobilizing to help also with employee contributions, member contributions and forming a co-op of other credit unions to try and do some large scale things.

I cannot even tell you guys how horrible this is. To have the levees break in New Orleans AFTER the storm was like a sucker punch. We go to New Orleans several times a year and to think of that beautiful historic city destroyed is really painful. To think of the people who have lost everything is unimaginable and I have tears forming just typing this.

I know this is for dieting and I should prob. put this in community.

So-dieting. Not horrible but not great. I will try to post, but I may not to get to your journals for awhile. Hope everyone is doing well. !!!!!

You are so amazing. It's people like you who make a difference. Godspeed.
