How long of a roadtrip will it be? your craziness depends on the length of the trip!I love the Disney Miracle!DH's mom would so do the same thing! We are planning to take her on a road trip to see her son in the Spring - am I crazy?
I think so, but it needs to happen. I loved the pic of the kids in China! Your patriotic reaction to the voices of Liberty is so great! More people need to stop and remember why we have our freedom!

I noticed them after I posted it.....who knows, maybe they're watching MIL have another "moment"?I wonder what the people in the background are thinking...
American Adventure I love it! If I don't take a nap, I cry at the end...
Thanks to all who served and are serving our country!
My Dad and 3 of his brothers were all in the army or airforce and my 2 of my mom's brothers. My older brother was also in the Navy for 12 years. And now Evan is considering the reserves because he wants to become a piolit. It scares me to death, but I've always taught them to respect the military, so I shouldn't be surprised.I got chills just reading your update. My grandfather was also in WWII and my stepson is in the army now. I try to thank them both frequently.
I was a little worried after I wrote about it that I was a little too "mushy" about it....I've been reading a series of books about the revolutionary war, so this kind of stuff has been on my mind.I loved reading about your experience at the American Adventure. I was raised in a very similar family, and my dad was in the Navy for 22 years, so I get all misty-eyed about things like that, too.![]()
It's always fun to find characters when you don't expect it. another part of the disney magic!Wow you did see some unusual characters, I don't think I've seen any of them in the WS before!!!
Sounds like you had a very moving time, wish we were more patriotic here!
maybe I was doing something crazy? It wouldn't be the first time I was stared at.[It makes me wonder.....do they think no one can see them?? They are DIRECTLY behind where the photo is being taken.![]()
Have you heard them before? They are amazing!I love your American Adventure story! the Voices of Liberty are a must do for us this next trip.
I felt the same way after the new Hall of Presidents. Disney has a very moving way of presenting American history.
I wonder what the people in the background are thinking...

The final scene of The American Adventure had just closed and the house lights came on, when from a few rows away, an elderly man stood up before anyone else had moved and yelled "God bless America".
I automaticaly thought about my grandpa's and my ancestors who have fought for freedom.
No one moved for a few seconds...I think you could have heard a pin drop. I left the theater wishing that my grandpa's were still alive so I could call them and thank them. Instead, when we got home, I took down the flag from my grandpa's funeral, that was in the back of a closet and put it somewhere that I will see everyday.

I'm caught up with this trip report and getting ready to check out the new pre-trip report. You've kept me company today as I worked around the house doing laundry, helping my daughter get her room cleaned, cooking breakfast, going over the grocery list with DH so he'd be clear about the baking items I needed, etc. I had the laptop set up on the kitchen counter as my headquarters for the day. I'd get some task going and come back to read a couple of pages before getting something else started.
I love to hear when other people have the same experience on hearing the Voices of Liberty or seeing the American Adventure. I just want to hug that man for standing up and saying what we all should be saying every day.
I feel so blessed to live in a time where the majority of our men didn't have or need to serve. And when you think about it, it's amazing that there didn't have to be a draft durring WWII because so many volunteered.I was wondering about those people too! What the heck could they be thinking?!?
Cherie, I get the same way at the American Adventure...
My dad and his four brothers served in the navy during WWll.
It just makes you proud to call this country home...
I love that Danielle didn't go there to learn! What a hear warming update! I love your pictures. I really want to get my kids to see the American Adventure. Hasn't happened yet. Trip before last we took Danielle to see the Hall of Presidents and she wasn't happy. She said she didn't come to Disney to learn, but since then she has studied about the American Revolution.
What books are you reading?
Maybe they were watching MIL do a dance with her cane?:
i'm glad those people decided to be in your picture! what were they doing?![]()

That's true - 2 days each way - So Oregon to Phoenix
I saw you talking about sending your DH to the grocery store, and I just had to post this for you - I laughed until I cried when I first heard this one:

I love that Danielle didn't go there to learn!I can't think of a better place to learn.
I'm re-reading a series called Prelude to Glory. There's 7 (I think) in the series...and they are huge hardbacks. The author does a great job of sprinkling "real" people and using fictional characters to tell about actual events. And while there's alot about the logistics of the war, it's easy to read because of the characters.
I'm going back to school in January to get my bachelors in History. I bet you couldn't tell it's my favorite subject...next to disney.![]()
it's like putting your money where your mouth is...isn't it?, "am I ready to let lose my own son, to the cause of freedom?" Not an easy one to answer!!
VoLib. is at the very top of my list of to-do's in WS. I just missed them last trip! Rats!
I love history and reading. I'm reading a series of books right now that started in Scotland and now it's the American Revolution.
I'll have to keep an eye out for the Prelude series.
it's like putting your money where your mouth is...isn't it?
VoLib..(I love that) is amazing. I could listen to them for hours.
Are you reading the Outlander series?
Yes I am!!!
I'm in the middle of the last one. I thought she wasn't writing anymore in the series so I got a good surprise when I went to the book store for The lost symbol and saw her new book.
Another great update. I have to confess I've never seen Voices of Liberty. We really need to spend more time in the World Showcase next June
I could spend a whole week just in WS and not get bored.....does that mean I'm getting old?Another great update. I have to confess I've never seen Voices of Liberty. We really need to spend more time in the World Showcase next June.
Great pictures with the characters...I like the various poses. MIL's picture with Snow White was nice too!
I love reading a good series, but I hate waiting inbetween releases.I thought the same thing, then Breanna found the letters. . .
sacrilege.![]()
Love the video shared by MAGICFOR2!I'm so glad I didn't number the items on the grocery list! I might still be baking otherwise!
Now, we're all waiting for the next installment and the answer to the question: did they go for fun or food?![]()
