After my kids had a little nature lesson from the ducks, we loaded onto the boat to take us to the international gateway.
For some reason whenever you get out on water, it's automaticaly 20 degrees colder.....I'd never really noticed it before.
We all huddled together and enjoyed the ride. I did love to see the resorts and dream of maybe staying at one of them some day.
We decided to head for France and the pasterie place.....that's what we call it.
Here's a couple of shots when we got there....
I wonder where Hunter gets his goofy poses from?
We decided to use our quick service in France. It was the best use of those points ever!!
Ethan had an interesting way of eating his dessert.....
After snarfing down our pasteries along with a little quice or ham and cheese croisant, we headed for Yahct club marina for the surprise.
We were going on an Illuminations Cruise!!
I had spent a night wide awake worried that I'd over sleep and not get my call in at 4 a.m. on the dot to reserve this.
So, following the directions I'd gotten, we reported at the marina at 8......just to be told to come back in 30 minutes.
We were all so cold by this point that I was tempted to just scrap it, but I would have been out alot of money, so we treked into the Yahct Club to wait.
As soon as my rowdy group entered those doors, I was sure we would be found out and kicked out. We sat down in the lobby and I spent the next 30 minutes telling the kids to please act with some decorum and not embarass their mother. I think all mother's know this technique, I use it mostly in church but it did come in hady here. While painting on your sweetest smile you threaten your kids through your clinched teeth that they had better behave themselves, or else.
Ater 30 minutes we headed back to the marina where we got to wait outside for another 10 minutes. By this time I know parts of my body were starting to solidify....I had visions of my fat cracking off and bouncing away. I got a little excited thinking that maybe I'd discovered a cure for cellulite.
The kids had to put on life vests before we boarded the boat....Hunter and Ethan had a little fun....
Look! I have proof that they love eachother!!!!!
It's amazing what freezing will drive you too!
Sure enough, as soon as we pulled out into the lake it got a heck of alot colder and I began to question my sanity. We were all trying to make the best of it. We huddled together as close as possible.
On the boat we had bags of chips and a cooler of pop. I couldn't believe that the kids still could drink it when it was so cold out!
Our boat putted into place under the bridge between England and France to view the show.
It was alot of fun, but I have to admit that you don't bet the whole effects of the lights going off and on around the lagoon.
I'm so glad we did it, but I don't think I'll do it again. Of course, had we not been human popsicles I probably would have enjoyed it alot more.
Our guide was really good and told us a ton of information, which I remember absolutley none of.
By the time we got back to the marina we high tailed it back to the yahct club to catch a cab back to our resort. I was a little leary about taking a taxi, considering the only time I'd ever used them, turned out to be a road trip through hell.
Luckily, we had a great driver who got us "home" without getting lost or making me fear for our lives. And the $13 was well worth it to not have to trek through epcot and catch a bus in the mayhem after Illuminations.
We were all still so cold and tired as we walked to the room and of course our little flat friend Phil was still smooshed on the side walk. Nothing says disney magic like a dead frog flattened mid hop.
up next......get me the prozac!!!
