As far as heat, humidity, and rain-What is better, October or June? Or August?

I guess I assumed October would be better, but now I'm hearing that early October (1-14), can be just as hot and humid as early June, maybe even worse?? And I guess October can still have heavy rainfall? Is that true? I'm assuming the crowds are a lot lighter in October than June, so that would be a benefit. But, the parks might be open later in June, so that would be good.

You couldn't pay me to go in June! Way too hot and humid! I would go in October...

If you're considering staying onsite, go in early October and take advantage of the free dining!

we just got back from Orlando and it rained quite a bit...BUT as with Florida,,most downpours are short lived,,,,but the rain only adds to the humidity...bllehhh...BUT on the plus side,,rain scares a lot of folks out of the parks,,so buy or bring a poncho!!!!..never been on october,,,,,we were there for the first week of June,I doubt we would go later than that though,,,,,,

The only time I think you won't really deal with humidity is when it starts getting cool, from Nov - Jan maybe February. As for rain, in Florida it's really just the luck of the draw. Its rare for it to rain ALL day (unless theres a storm around, ala hurricane), its usually heavy rain for an hour and then it clears up VERY nicely. I can honestly say we've had the best experience in terms of weather in August, December and January.

This early morning (I live in Miami) it was POURING rain I mean really nasty, lots of high winds (I thought the tropical storm was hitting us!), and a little thunder. When I left for work it cleared up, it was still a bit dark, but the rain has passed. I bet in about an hour or two the sun will be out and it'll be freakin hotter than all...!

Just shows how unpredictable it can be. If you want AWESOME Florida weather, go with late Oct, or Nov/Dec.

October can still be really hot, but I don't think it's as bad as June. Plus, I would guess that June is our rainiest month. You'll have nicer days in October. It used to be less crowded in October, but I don't know if that holds true anymore. It's still one of my favorite times of year to go!

We have been both times and I much prefer October. We went last year from the 7th - 12th and the weather was great. Low 80s each day. A little humid in the evenings, but not unbearable. We had 1 full day of rain, but we managed. We had 1 cool evening where we purchased sweatshirts for the kids to wear. Otherwise, shorts weather every day. Also, in October, you have Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - which we loved.

We went on our honeymoon in Oct, and the weather was fantastic.
It rained only one afternoon for 30 minutes. The rest of the rain came early in the morning or while we were sleeping. Crowds were allot better in Oct too.

Having been in both Oct and June, I much prefer October......it was hot in Oct but managable....the heat and humidity in June were at times unbearable.....HTH.....

I've been to WDW in October and June (albeit that was 20 years ago) and I would pick October. The weather is beautiful!

The most prominent memory of my June trip was the oppressive heat. I still remember walking into a very cool PoC and being SO grateful to be out of the heat & humidity!

October!
Mickeys Halloween PArty is not to be missed!
And the weather was nice too...still warm though!

Hi~
We have gone the 1st week of October for the last 2 years and we love it. We have only has rain one time for a day and all it did was sprinkle for about 20 minutes. Yes, it is still hot, but it was great going to the pools. Also, you can go to the Halloween party and the crowds were not that bad.

We have been 4th of July Week and then we went the first Week in October 2 years ago. It did not rain as much in October, but to us the heat and humidity were just as bad in October (and we are from South Georgia so we are used to humidity) and the crowds were worse, I don't know why I think it was like the week of Columbus Day or Veterans Day, one of those Monday holidays, which I did not realize would effect crowds that much) I think also they were giving big discounts to military families at that time, so maybe October's are not normally that crowded.

Actually, looking at the school calendar, I think my only options are going to be June or August, and I'm leaning toward August because the heat doesn't seem to be much different, but the crowds are a lot less.

I prefer the weather in October. It's still hot and humid, but it just doesn't seem as bad. What is a drawback to going in October is shorter park hours. Dh and I went at the end of Oct. last year. Given the much shorter hours, we expected low crowds; so we didn't care. Well, it was still pretty darn busy!!
