Can anyone give me any info about the family suites at the All-Star resorts? I'm looking for cost, what they looked like, how many could sleep there, etc. I have a friend who is starting to plan her family's first trip (2 adults, 1 pre-teen, 2 grade school, 1 toddler) and they really want to stay on site, but can't really afford the deluxes where 6 can sleep.
My many thanks!:thanks: :disrocks:

I've never stayed at the family suites but we looked into them before we made reservations for our Dec trip. From what I was told they have a king bed in the bed room. In the living area there is a couch that pulls out to a double or twin, then a chair that pulls out to a twin and an ottomon that does the same. Not sure of the exact things that pull out but you get a double or queen and 2 twins. They also have 2 bathrooms and I believe a kitchen area. We actually got a better deal on 2 rooms at the pop then the family suite so if price is an issue then have them check out 2 rooms as well.

I know my friend needs joining rooms b/c of the ages of her kids, and when asked, Disney couldn't promise anything; it was based on what would be available when they arrived (even if they put in a request). So they really need 2 rooms together (or 1 big one?) that can sleep 2 adults, 3 kids and a toddler.
She's really hoping to stay on-site; they don't want to rent a car and drive in everyday. They're planning on a week's stay.
Anyone else stay at one?

We stayed in the Family Suite last year, and we are staying in one again this year. We really like them a lot. The above thread should answer all your questions. If you still have any, I would be glad to help.

We stayed in one a few months ago and liked it. The second bathroom, TV and little kitchen area were a nice change from a normal hotel room.

We stayed in an ASMU last summer and it was the bomb. Easily can sleep 6 and there is a private bedroom and two bathrooms plus kitchenette. See the thread posed by NicoleWisconsin. Minnie61650 is the authrority on ASMU suites.

From what I was told they have a king bed in the bed room.

It is a queen bed in the bedroom. We stayed there in October 2007.

This resort is really nice even if the room is used for 2 couples instead of a family. The 2 bathrooms really make it nice and having the mini kitchen is really great. If you just get 2 connecting (if you're lucky) rooms at a value resort it might cost less, but you wouldn't have a queen bed, a refrigerator or a microwave. To us that offset the extra in price.:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the info everyone, esp. the link to the thread! I'll be sharing this with my friend next week when I see her. I think it's time to get her hooked on DIS!:disrocks:

When I called Disney today the CM I talked to gave me a quote of $248.60 for the Family Suite.
