Aruba vs Turks and Caicos

I am starting to think about our summer vacation next year. We will most likely travel one of the last two weeks of June 2026. Dh has asked if we can do some type of all inclusive, somewhere like Aruba or Turks and Caicos. Since he has probably been to WDW around 20 times in our marriage, despite not being a Disney fan, I want to make this request happen.

When I start to search, I am a little overwhelmed. I am looking at Beaches in Turks and Caicos and not even sure where to start in Aruba. Does anyone have any recommendations for me to research or places you’ve stayed and loved? A preference between the two? We live in CT and will fly from NY most likely.

Dh and I are in our early 40s and we have two kids who will be 11 and 9. Dh and the kids love the water, and the kids would love a water park that Beaches seems to have . I am not a huge beach person but can be happy in a beach chair with a good book.

Thanks!

I think I would pick Aruba at that time of year solely because it is out of the hurricane belt. That would stink waiting to go all year and then having a bad storm hit the week you go. Hurricane season technically starts June 1.

On another note, Aruba was just voted the safest island to travel to so that is a bonus too.

Have fun wherever you decide!

Beaches Turks and Cacois is wonderful with kids that age. They can have a great deal of freedom and the pool/beach sitting is wonderful.

Wherever you go, definitely do an all inclusive. So much easier with kids to not have to worry about having to figure out meals.

Thanks for the replies so far. We have done a few cruises and might end up just doing that but it might be nice to try something new

Both are great. Turks is a bit quieter and is more geared towards all-inclusives. Aruba is more developed, and I've heard a lot of recommendations to avoid all-inclusives since there are a lot of great restaurants and cheaper resorts on the island. So maybe Aruba if you want something more active, Turks if you want a quieter beach trip.

We did Beaches T&C many years ago when our kids were around the same age as yours. It was so much fun! They have so many things to do that we were never bored. I would recommend doing some research about which restaurants are good before going. We found a place we loved towards the end of our trip that we wish we had tried early on. I can't remember the name but it served the best jerk chicken!

It is just called the Jerk Truck. It is absolutely amazing. Everything was good. I loved the fish in foil and the sausage.
