anyone with a review of Artist Point at WLV? also...would you take kids (ages 8 and 10) We've been to Whispering Canayon tons of times, as we ususally stay at WL, but have never tried Artist Point. how many TS is this if we are on the dining plan? Hoping it is just one!

It is a signature restaurant requiring 2 TS.

It is most definitely an okay place to take children.

It is a beautiful restaurant, quiet, relaxing. Tables are spaced nicely so you don't feel like you are on top of your fellow diners.

Many people rave about the food and it does get good reviews. It's not one of my favorite signatures but I think that it's just me rather than anything else. Their signature dishes are the buffalo steak and the cedar planked salmon. We've eaten here twice and both experiences were pleasant but I prefer many of the other signature places.

We visited Artist Point in Dec. My family consist of DH and myself, DS 10, DS 7 and DD 6. We had an incredible meal. It was 2 TS. I do not remember everything we ordered, but I will try. DH had the Duck Confit, Buffalo Steak, and Cobbler. I ordered the Port Mushroom Soup (excellent), the Filet but I was told to have Mac -n-Cheese with it. It was really good!! I don't remember my dessert. The kids all had the kids food, not sure what DS 10 ordered from the adult menu?? Our server was great, wine selection was nice. I would gladly go there again. We went on our first night of VWL and it was really perfect not to have to leave the resort. After dinner we did the Sleigh Ride they do in Dec. Just a wonderful evening all around. Seems like years ago already.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. As PP said, the tables are spaced apart which is a true luxury at WDW. The wine pairings are superb. The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. I feel it is worth the dining plan 2 TS

We went to Artist Point in September and it was so good, we booked again and went back (who says you need to book ADRs way in advance!).

The first time, the service was fantastic. A very knowledgeable waitor (Steve) made some great recomendations and described each dish very well. He was very attentive without being at all overbearing.

I had the smoky portabello soup to start - on Steve's recomendation. This was a bit of a leap of faith for me as I'm not a soup fan or a mushroom fan - but boy, was it good!!! A rich, creamy soup with roasted ****ake's stirred in for added flavor and texture. Perfect!

For entree, I opted for the buffalo sirloin, medium rare (again, Steve's suggestion - I normally go for rare but apparently buffalo can be tough if eaten rare). The steak was great - full of flavour and not tough at all. It came with an onion marmalade which I though got a little overpowering but it didn't spoil the dish.

For dessert, I went for the cobbler. The fruit was really juicy and tasty although the cobbler was just ok (nothing bad though).

On our second visit, we had a different waitor, Stuart. He was ok but not a patch on Steve. He hardly explained the dishes at all and, although not bad, he just wasn't as helpful or attentive and was nowhere near as friendly.

Still, I started with the mussels which were divine! Really good!

For entree, I went for the salmon - the house signature dish. Well what can I say? It was salmon with a few spices on. Nothing special at all. Not bad but I was expecting far, far more.

I think I skipped dessert because, as it seems with most Disney restaurants, there was nothing inspiring on the menu.

In terms of decor, the high ceilings and huge artowork at the back of the restaurant are pretty impressive however the ceilings toward the front are much lower and the area is less impressive.

Now that we've been twice, I don't think I'd rush back - though I certainly wouldn't say no if someone paid me to eat there!!!

I've eaten at Artist Point several times, the food and service are always excellent. Its one of the best restaurants in WDW.

It's our favorite restaurant at WDW. We've been eating every trip for several years.

We both get the Cedar Plank Salmon and berry cobbler. My sister and her friend both had the Pork Chop and said it was the best they ever had.

Beautiful relaxing atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service.

I could not have said it better myself and I agree 100%. Let me also add that it has a great wine list, with a focus on Washington and Oregon wines.

This is my favorite restaurant in WDW. THe food is excellent. It is not overwhelming or presumptuous. The restaurant is quiet, and is nice for an quiet adult meal. I have seen children there, but because it is 2TS, it is not normally a place families on the Dining Plan come to. Being at the Wilderness Lodge takes it out of the beaten path, unlike the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk.
There is a dress code, though not anything like V&A. The servers we have had were all excellent. We are working our way around the menu, and have yet to be disappointed with anything we have chosen.

Now that LeCellier is booked solid with Disney Dining Plan folks trying to get the best 1TS mail on property, we have moved our special adult dinner to Artist Point.

We dined at AP about 2 years ago. It was the best overall dining experience we had on that trip. The atmosphere is lovely, service was excellent and the food was well prepared. The tables were well spaced not cramed together and ours had a lovely window view. Patrons were dressed in tasteful resort attire, no cut-offs or Tee shirts with skulls & bloody daggers or belly button rings proudly on view. :rolleyes1 We don't do the DDP but I think it must be 2 credits. I would take my 10yo grandaughter without hesitation, although I'm not sure what she would find appealling on the menu. We would go back in a heartbeat. AP is not just a place to eat but rather a nice dining experience. One of the few left at WDW.
