We are just now planning on trying Artist Point but to our dismay, this board has had bad reviews. Has anyone had a recent good experience?

I know you're looking for positive posts but thought you might like to know that we're DVC'ers and VWL is our home...meaning that up to now we've been predisposed to loving AP and one of the reasons we chose this DVC location was because of AP. However, when we were down in March I ordered my favorite salmon and when it came it was covered in black peppercorns...so hot the first few bites made my lips numb. We'll go back, but I'm hoping you attract some positives for me to read also!

They've obviously been messing arond with the salmon as our last visit found it not up to usual standards, as well...The preperation (IMO) not the salmon itself.

My husband and I went to AP in early spring this year after hearing rave reviews about the place. From the poor service to the not up to standards pork chop, we really did not like the place. (Although the berry cobbler is all and more it is built up to be!)

Boy, I had a totally different experience from the other posters. We went to AP in late June and it was the best meal of the trip. I had the Cooper River Salmon and it was fabulous. My friend had the tuna and she is still raving about it. We had Andreas (I think that's how you spell it) and he was a wonderful server.

We went there back in May this year. We both tried the portobello soup after reading so much about it and both of us thought it was good. I ordered the cedar planked salmon and my DW ordered the pork chop. The salmon was not spectacular as a signature dish should be and DW did not like her pork chop (more about the sauce than the meat itself). I wouldn't give AP a thumbs down, but I guess we expected more. The best thing is to review the menu and see if there are any other dishes that may catch your fancy and try them out.

I didn't know there were bad reviews of AP lately. I hope they don't change the salmon! I love this restaurant (last time I went was last fall).

We were there in June and loved it. We've been to AP several times and always enjoyed it. We usually ask for Pok as our server as she is always smiling and enjoys talking.

Our favorites are the venison spring rolls and smokey portobello soup for appetizers; the buffalo steak; and for desert, coffee two ways. Oh yes, and we usually get the wine flights.

Thank you for your responses. I wish they had been more positive but we will probably try AP anyway. :guilty:

When we went in Feb. it was not busy at all. Our server was fine. The food was fine. The restaurant itself was very nice. That's about all I can say. We walked away saying that it was a decent meal but NOT AT ALL worth two credits on the dining plan. If it were only one credit, the food would still have been "fine" but that wouldn't have been a negative. We love a good meal, don't usually balk at prices and know to not expect at WDW quite what we expect at home but it just wasn't worth the expense.

I think they're just experimenting a little and hopefully will soon see the light.

ufgator, it isn't that they may change the cedar plank salmon...They already have.

AP is a favorite of my DW and I. In fact, we have a resy for our next trip in September. We, too, enjoy the wine flights. The last time the Inniskillin Ice Wine was included as one of the four! We found the fixed prix dinner ($49)to be a good value (with the added wine flight ;) ).

As far as desserts are concerned, I'm a chocoholic usually, but the berry cobbler is the exception! It's one of my favorites at WDW. :)
