Artist Point Confirmed to Become a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Character Dinner

Don't like WDW having 2 princess character meals? Head for DLR where they no longer have any.

Want a character meal at WDW without princesses? How about Garden Grill, 'Ohana, Chef Mickey, Minnie's Seasonal Dine, Crystal Palace, Cape May, 1900 Park Fare breakfast

or Tusker House?
Exactly! Why does everyone always think that everything is geared towards girls? Obviously they don't have as much demand for totally boyish type stuff. Ever notice the princess to pirate ratio running around the parks? They came up with the pirate dress up place (forget the name because you don't hear much about it) as an alternative to BBB and finding the little dude pirates amongst the little princesses is like Where's Waldo. Disney's going to ONLY do what will bring in the big bucks. As for everyone talking about how a Villains character meal will be the hardest ADR to get....didn't they try out a villains meal not too long ago and it went over like a lead balloon? I swear I remember that because I was all in but from what I remember, kids were too scared of it. Did I dream this?

I endorse the removal of Disney's silly classist resort categories so long as the resorts with more than one restaurant differentiate between dining experiences. If you want snack food? We got it. You want a hotel buffeteria or character meal? We got it. You want fine dining? It's here too.
Problem is....now they'll ALL become deluxe. I saw that coming with the addition of the gondolas and the upgraded rooms at the values. They're going to be relying on the rich to fill all those rooms because I sure can't afford it. I just cancelled my October trip for 4 days at POFQ, only 2 day park hoppers and the basic dining plan for 2 adults and a 3 year old that was going to cost in the ball park of $2600. I booked Paris and London for 2 people for 9 days, flight and hotel, train ticket to London with overnight hotel for $2300. Seriously. WHY would I continue to give Disney my money and go to Epcot and pretend to see the world when I actually CAN for less money? Now I live in SC and by the end of the year I will have gone to WDW 6 times this year alone and am not an AP holder. They are cutting me out as a customer. I'm going to start traveling the world for what I would pay to go to Disney! I think more people are going to start doing the same.

As a mom of little girls I’m intrigued by this character meal choice and by everyone’s responses here. Yes, Snow White is a princess but far from the “princesses” my girls swoon for. Definitely not in the top 5 of most little girls lists. They love Tiana, Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle most for the contemporary factor. And by the addition of the witch (which my girls will be terrified by), is Disney trying to maintain this as a welcoming place for adults and not turning it into a place more geared towards children? Personally, this will not be a restaurant on our list for our princess obsessed girls, even though I know I’d likely get a much better meal here than CRT. I’m not critiquing Disney in any way. I’m happy with this choice. I think they maybe went with a classic disney vision and away from an appeal of 4 year olds.
I was thinking along these lines as well. I don't see Snow White as a big draw for children these days. This seems to be more of an adult character meal being that it's definitely not one of the movies kids are watching over and over. When the dwarves come out during the parties in the parks, it's the adults that stand in those long lines to meet them. I mean Cinderella is old as heck too, but she's the epitome of Disney princess so everyone introduces Cinderella to their little girl at some point....plus it's in the castle so it's a given that that one is going to be popular with kids and adults alike...Snow White I see geared towards grown ups and nostalgia.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that if you are in search of a relaxing and romantic fine dining experience, maybe don't look for it in the middle of the busiest family-oriented theme park on the planet.
Hear hear! It's Orlando, home of a zillion fine dining joints.

Yes a villains character meal would be hard to get but wouldn't it be a fun, nice option. I think its is fine that Disney of course has loads of princess meals but what about other ppl who don't want that and are over tired of that. What about one with Peter pan, Smee, Wendy and captain hook. How fun would that be? They need to change it up imo and come up with something fresh. They had villains in dhs for a few weekends and it went well. Not sure why they wont do it again.

If you go six times in a year, why dont you have an AP? Do you always take single day trips? Any multi day trips and you are wasting money by not having an AP.

Sigh..... Going elsewhere. DVC, HOMED at BRV. WL no longer has any "Signature Dining" offerings :(. Just us - grabbing Cabs to GF, Contemporary,
and the EXCELLENT Swan/Dolphin complex.

We LOVED the REAL "Artist Point". Sadly?.....

 Yeah it's too bad. Looks like my days at AP are over too. I'm beginning to consider eating outside the Disney Parks at times since we do rent a car. There's always a Capital Grille somewhere that has my name on it. We could also just head over to AKL, they seem to have a handle on how to do it right. I guess there is an upside...sigh. It's one less restaurant I will have to consider on my ADR list every year. Makes narrowing down that list a bit easier.

Please take this with a grain of salt as I realize that it’s likely in the realm of bus driver lore...but we were just at AP two nights ago and the server said that they are planning to gut the entire restaurant to retheme it to “Storybook Dining” and that they are getting a whole new kitchen as well. I can’t imagine they can do all that in time for the Christmas rush if it’s true.

That would explain “winter” in the original press release. Sad we will miss it for our December trip but gives an excuse to come back

This is probably a pointless post, but there is something about the word "Storybook" that gives me the nostalgic warm fuzzies. I doubt I will ever eat at whatever AP becomes, but "Storybook Dining" sounds much more appealing to me than "Character Meal".

Like...is the interior going to be all themed up so that it looks like you're walking into a scene from Snow White? Because that kind of makes me want to eat there. I'm a sucker for excellent theming...and not the Beauty and Beast themed prom in the school cafeteria, which is what BOG seems like to me (sorry BOG theming lovers). I want some "Oh my goodness, I'm actually IN the fairy tale world!" theming.

Done rambling. Sorry.

I had 14 days worth of tickets that were non expiring from way back when. couple days here and there with Universal AP's Also we get military discounts so last years 4 day hoppers were $240.

So - we have the news...

Now? Your choice. AP is no longer a SIG. Other options include....

1) CA Grill
2) Citrico's
3) Narcoossee's.
4) (farther out) Shula's
5) (farther out) Il Mulino.
6) (closer in) - CAPA

WDW may chose to offer what they chose to offer. You may chose to pay for it, or walk away.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.
Jiko. Or actually BiCE over at Universal--that gives Disney a bit less of my money.
