I need some people with good memories, or people that work in retail to help me. We are in need of a new artificial Christmas Tree this year, last year ours snapped at the base. (oye - what a mess)

Anyway, do they ever go on sale before Christmas? My husband says No, I say Yes. He wanted to buy a new one TODAY, I say wait. But now he has me doubting myself because I truly do not know.

Anybody have any idea?

I know Home Depot has had them on sale on Black Friday.... I am sure if you look around you can find one on sale somewhere

Last year several stores had them on sale before Christmas. I specifically remember KMart, Michael's, Target, and Hobby Lobby because we were shopping for a tree.

You are right and he is wrong.:rotfl:

We had to replace our pre-lit tree last year because it no longer lit. We bought our replacement tree at Target. While they weren't on a serious sale, we did buy our tree on sale, before Christmas. I am unsure if it was before or after Thanksgiving as we typically have our tree up earlier in the season and I don't recall being too late in putting our tree up.

We also opted for a non-pre-lit tree. The pre-lit tree only lasted a couple of Christmas seasons. Stringing lights really isn't that bad. Stringing them on a tree with non-functioning lights was a pain.

Hobby Lobby has them 40% this week. They are closed Sundays, so today is the last day of this sale, but they will have them on sale alot thru the season. They have a huge selection.
I also recall other places having sales before Christmas. I always wait till after Christmas and get them 75% off.

Good to know. Thanks. I am going to run to Hobby Lobby today and check out what they have - that's a good sale. I am particular about my Xmas tree, I like lots of tips, so we are having a hard time finding one I like that's not going to break the bank! I am driving my DH nuts!!

I did see one I like at Kmart, but it's not on sale, well, 10% off on-line, but I don't call that a sale.......:rolleyes1

I bought a great prelit (both white and color, with a remote) from JCPenney on black friday a few years ago. It was more than 1/2 off, and we love it! :goodvibes

We bought ours on sale at Home Depot on Black Friday.

You can probably use a regular weekly 40% off coupon from Michaels on one there.

Thanks. I tried Michaels but they won't let me use it on a tree over 4 feet. We didn't find one at Hobby Lobby today either. They only had one mulit-light tree, which we prefer. Most of the pre-lits are clear lights.

Sounds like Black Friday is the day to get a good deal. My DH is going to LOVE hearing that, he HATES shopping on that day. I suppose I could go myself, but that hardly seems fair. LOL!

I can wait, as long as I know the prices will probably drop. $400.00-$500.00 for a tree is more than I want to spend! Crazy! The last one we had was AWESOME, it was huge and full (1800 tips) and we only paid $99.00 at Kmart. Of course, that was 12 years ago. We got our money's worth out of it. The problem now is...I want a huge, full tree, just like the old one, but apparently it's going to cost me!!

At the very least, hold off on paying full price through Election Day until Veteran's Day. Either of those might bring you a sale.

I think Sears is having a big sale today-- you may want to take a look if there's one near you.

I bought two at Lowes at 50% off well before Xmas. This will be my third year with them.

I have a clear lit and a multicolor.

Now I think I want one for another room and I want to buy a white one, just to change it up a bit.

I got mine on sale at Garden Ridge Pottery (chain?) They had a huge selection. I had already pre-shopped at the other places mentioned, but I couldn't find one "just right" for my tastes. I also like multi-colored lights. This tree has some clear lights mixed in with the multi-colored. I like both kinds of lights and I don't like those new plastic molded needles. It was really hard to find a tree that I could call my own.

I shopped a lot on the internet too...gorgeous trees, but $$$$$.

great thread. We need to replace ours this year and my daughter is living on her own for the first Christmas so I am thinking about getting her one as her Christmas present. Not much on my black friday wish list so I may make a tree what I wish for....

I got mine a few years ago at Joannes on Black Friday. I was looking for a new one last year and found fewer on sale that day.

Hobby Lobby has them 50% off right now in my area.

I'll be heading over there to get mine this week. I want the 9 foot, slim tree with clear white lights. LOL

I'm tired of struggling to put lights on a supposedly pre-lit tree since the lights quit working 2 years ago.

Some tips to for the ones that the lights stopped working. Make sure the tree is unplugged and cut the cord it doesn't take too long and you can put new lights in we just did that to MIL tree a few weeks ago. If you try to unwrap the cord it takes forever. We replace it with LED lights. My mom bought her tree black friday at target for half the price that was about 7 years ago and her lights are still working. We are taking her tree this year since she is getting divorce and neither one wants the tree . We are so exited we got a tree for free because we just had to spend $200 in ornaments since I broke then accidentally taking halloween decorations out:sad2:

We bought ours after Christmas at a 60% discount. $1200 for $400 prelight. Dont think you will find a betterdeal before Holidays.

I bought mine on bf about 5 years ago at Targets. It was really cheap and is still holding up and looks awesome.
