Do you have to be a guest staying at the hotel to do the Art of Craft Tour at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel? thanks

You don't--my husband did it in December and we were staying off site. I recommend you call the GCH and make a reservation--probably just a formality, but it is nice to know you're signed up .

This tour can be cancelled for insufficient reservations, so sign up in advance.

Thanks, We are WDW regulars and love to take tours of the Resorts there.
Does anyone know if there is a Tour of Disneyland resort? or can you self tour around the lobby if you are not staying there? thanks

Yes, there is a tour of the DLH also. I believe you can tour it also if you are off site. Again, call for a reservation.

I took the Art of the Craft tour for the second time in July, led by Dave Lay.
Very interesting, particularly since he wrote the "script" for the tour.
