Hi all!
Do you know of any easy way to use the Disney transporation to get from Art of Animation to the Polynesian and Wilderness?

Thank you!
Jen

Poly: Bus from AoA to MK, boat or monorail to Poly.

Wilderness - Fort (FW) or Lodge (WL)?
Fort: Bus from AoA to MK, boat to FW
Lodge: Bus from AoA to MK, boat or bus to WL
*You can also walk to the Contemporary and get on the boat that loops CR - FW - WL.

When you get off the bus at MK, you would follow along towards the MK entrance, but you would not go through the bag check. The monorail station is on the opposite side. The express monorail will only go to TTC and the resort monorail will go to CR, TTC, Poly, GF. The boats are located along the lake to the left as you walk towards MK. There will be signs indicating which boat dock is which with Poly/GF being the farthest from the buses and FW/WL being towards the middle.

If you chose to go to Contemporary to take the boat to WL or FW, you could go to the right after exiting the bus. There are signs to direct you.

If you take the bus to MK and want to take the monorail you DO have to go through bag check in order to get to the monorail. Which I think is dumb

Well that's different than I remember. I guess I will have to check that out the next time I am there so I have a better view in my head.

Yes you have to go through bag check in order to reach the monorail

No you don't. The monorail entrance is outside the bag check area. You go up the path toward the entrance and instead of going right you veer left and head to the monorail.

You definitely do not have to go through bag check to get on the resort monorail.

At MK you don't go through baggage check to get on eitherthe resort or express monorail after getting off the bus.
You may have to go through bag check at Epcot after getting off the bus and trying to get on the monorail there.

Unless bag check has moved recently, no you don't have to go thru bag check to get to the monorail (resort loop). I'm pretty sure that the express loop is OK too but it's been a while for me. MK bag check is two stations, one on either side of the entryway. Guests with no bag stay straight and go up the center.

Bag check for EPCOT is not anywhere near the monorail entrance either. EPCOT bag check is after the ticket booths.

To keep the record straight;

At MK you don't go through baggage check to get on eitherthe resort or express monorail after getting off the bus.
You may have to go through bag check at Epcot after getting off the bus and trying to get on the monorail there.

The Express Monorail at MK is inside the bag check area.

Bag check for EPCOT is not anywhere near the monorail entrance either. EPCOT bag check is after the ticket booths.

This has changed since your tenure. Epcot has a secured area larger than MK's, enclosing the monorail entrance and ticket booths. The bag check is near the parking lot tram boarding area.

When walking to the monorail platform, at MK, from the bus area, you walk down the slope, towards the entrance to MK. If you are going to MK, you would take a right and go to bag check. But, if going to the monorail, you would just walk straight and up the hill to the platform. There is no need to go through bag check in order to ride the monorail. It's never been the case.

Unless they changed everything within the last 2 months I did not have to go through baggage check when taking the express monorail. I walked from the Contemporary to MK and up to the Express Monorail to then go to TTC all without going through baggage check because they were having issues with resort monorail...sounds like a long route but it was better than standing around waiting for them to fix the resort monorail issue

I use Our Laughing Place Transportation Wizard to find my way around WDW.

*REMOVED LINK*

Hope this helps!

EDITED: I removed the link because the website appears to have misinformation. Apologies for any confusion this caused.

Just be aware that this can give you routes that don't exist, which can be a real problem if you wait and wait and wait for a bus that is never coming. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't already very familiar with WDW transportation.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info!! :thumbsup2

Years ago several of us exchanged private messages with the site responsible for OLP wizard. I told them several issues. The issues weren't corrected. The wizard is updated with new resorts and new names giving the wizard the illusion of being updated. I've come to the conclusion the people responsible for the wizard are sadistic.

Some of the routes haven't existed in years. Some of the routes are just wrong. Some are clearly intended as a joke. Look at the suggested routes from going from the Bay Lake Tower to the Contemporary.
