Art of Animation Sept 2012 Who's going to AoA?

Does anyone know what the pool will be like?
We are booked at the CSR and I'm half considering switching because seriously half the magic of Disney is the Disney in your face. But because we are going to spending half the time actually at the resort, I want to make sure the amenities are awesome. But I'm also worried because it's the newest hotel it's going to be jammed. We arrive a week after they open.

Not sure what to do, but there is about 150.00 savings if I switch resorts???

we switched from CSR to LM rooms too!

Can you add us to the list?"

We will be there Sept 21- Sept 29!!!!!

So many days of Disney and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!

I am so looking forward to the pics of the food court, pools, other rooms, etc from the lucky ones that get in when it opens!!

Thanks!!!!

CSR is like getting a Deluxe resort!

This is a value resort, even though its new.

It is a value resort and supposed to have the largest pool on grounds of Disney for their main pool. HOwever, it will not have a slide, etc.

We switched from CSR to AoA for our kiddies. I am excited, but also I try to stay at a different place each time!

It really is what suits your family and your needs.

We come in the day before you leave . We will be in the Lion King area . Sept 28- Oct 7 .:cool1:

We are coming all the way from Australia and originally had bookings at Pop, and were told that AoA had no availability for our dates. Due to a bout of insomnia last night I happened to be up in the middle of the night and noticed that Disney was offering AoA with free dining for our dates. Just thought it was worth another email to our TA and 'bingo' she has managed to switch our bookings to AoA LM section. Yay for insomnia! We are staying 3 weeks, Sept 19 to Oct 11 and we are soooo excited!!! I'm having trouble containing my excitement as my children don't know about this trip as it's a surprise, and they are home today on school holidays....I must keep it in!! So moral of the story, if you are told there is no availability, keep trying because Disney often open up more rooms and you can be lucky! I've never stayed in a brand new resort before. Gonna be very cool.

That's just Great!!!! :thumbsup2 I'm glad that you got into the AoA. We'll be there, but not until after Thanksgiving, the end of November. It is so exciting to be in a brand new resort. I hope you have a wonderful time and safe trip over (That must be a very long trip!).

Were flying SW for our Sept trip from Pittsburgh we book as soon as they dropped free dinning . Today I checked and our tickets went up $600 from what we paid .i just looked at Air Tran . The prices sure did go up.

OMGosh, we always use SW for WDW, but I haven't really looked yet due to our trip not being until after Thanksgiving. Now I'm going to be afraid to see the prices.

My favorite time of year to go is September. I really wish I was going in September with all of you to open the new Resort, but I know that we will love our first ever Christmas trip this year. Next year, in 2013, I'll be at AoA in September for MNSSHP. This year I'll be able to share photos of all of the AoA Christmas decorations with all of you. I can't wait to see everybodie's Sept. photos. :thumbsup2

Just switched our Ressies from Pop To AoA LM room - 9/22 - 9/29. So excited to see the new resort.
:thumbsup2
9/29-10/5 LM

Added all of you. I also added a MNSSHP roll call list on post #1. this way everyone can see who's going.

I've been stalking the reservation site for our trip dates to open up at AoA and today was my lucky day! So I pulled the trigger and we're now booked at AoA Little Mermaid for 9/21-10/1.

From what I understand SW just pushed back the booking dates to the middle of May to drop prices for Nov. We book out tickets early and the price is up from when we booked. Some one tell me if I am wrong but if you book and a lower prices comes out on SW you can call and get a credit.

I can wait to see the pictures at Christmas we originally booked for Nov but I changed for free dinning . I was afraid to wait on air prices . Good luck.

You can get a southwest credit that must be used within 1 year of original book date. I don't travel that often for that to benefit me. For those that do though it's a great perk.

Did you guys try looking into flying airtran? We usually fly Southwest but this time it was alot cheaper with them(even with 20.00 baggage fee). I just checked and it was about $35 each way cheaper for airtran(that was out of columbus which is where we fly out of).

Just booked our 32nd Anniversary/ Hubby's birthday trip- Sept.16th-21st in a LM room! Exciting!!!! :mickeyjum

09/29-10/04!!! Planning on MNSSHP too!! Changed my ressies from Pop to a Lion King Family Suite. I might actually explode with excitement from this! never stayed at Pop and was really looking forward to it, but once I saw that I could get a LKFS I was all over it. This will be the first trip for my 3 step kids and the 3rd for my daughter.

What is everyone going to dress up as for MNSSHP??

DD has decided that all 4 of us are going to be pirates! (have a feeling DS will be Jake and DD will end up dressed like Izzy!) We'll be at MNSSHP party on 9/28 and the 2 of us will be doing the Pirate's League that afternoon.

We're the same way with being form Ohio but for DD I found it easy because most of the princess and/or fairy outfits are sleeveless/short sleeves and here she layers underneath but it worked great last year for MNSSHP. DS I had a little tougher time with - everything around here was long sleeve (he was 1) but I found a short sleeve Peter Pan outfit online that he wore (he just wore shorts instead of the pants) so I figure if all else fails, this year he'll still fit in the Peter Pan outfit.

Yeah, I'm watching all airlines. Hoping to get $200 or less per person including all fees. Might be hard this year but if not we'll drive and we'll get to spend 2 days at Universal rather than 1 so there's a plus to having to drive. Thanks for the info though! :thumbsup2

Just booked DH Birthday and our anniversary trip, staying in LM from 9/20-9/30 :cool1:
